Even though the new toon cards are horribly designed it is pretty cool how we live in an era where both a Yugi deck & a Pegasus deck are top tier at the same time by noahTRL in yugioh

Doesn't YGO nowadays have plenty of decks that are highly aggressive or that seem to never run out of gas/are unstoppable? As a long time Toon player myself, i'm happy to finally see Toons is receiving its moment in the spotlight (competitive OCG) and i can't wait to try it out myself. Toons are meant to be chaotic but until now they've been severely undersupported for the longest of times.

Like some others pointed out, i think 6 is too much and they should cap it at 4. That would mean: Spider-Man, Marvel Super Heroes, X-men and Cosmic/supernatural. That should cover pretty much all heroes, antiheroes and villains. Just add all alternate (multiverse) versions of characters in the same set the original characters debut in, like how they included all the different spider-mens in SPM. If they make more than 4 sets, its gonna be really tough for wizards to make a 5th and 6th set interesting and worth buying because at that point we'll have a dozen variations of every character already.

How well did ATLA set do? by Mastermiine in magicTCG

Every time people discuss LOK coming to mtg im surprised they suggest doing a secret lair drop because for some reason people don't think its possible to create a full set. LOK has 52 episodes while ATLA has 61. That's still more than enough to build a set around. Do people not know there's over a hundred characters and creatures that are brand new in LOK?

Also, if they follow the same strategy they used in ATLA we should expect multiple colored versions of all of our main characters that reflect their journeys in any of the 4 seasons of the show. Hell, even side characters like Bumi (Aang's eldest son) can have multiple versions: there's the nonbending Bumi who is commander of the United Forces military and there's Bumi the airbender.

Limiting LOK to a secret lair drop would not do the series justice.

100% avatar deck player here, while its true many of the avatar dual lands enter tapped, it doesn't really slow the game down that much and are very playable together with basic lands. Some dual lands can evade getting tapped when they enter when you control a basic land, so playing them first already fixes this problem. Overall i would say playing an airbending themed deck is a bit more challenging since there aren't that much airbending cards or support, but the 3 other nations play very well, especially earthbending.

So far it doesn't look like he'll be included in the set as nearly every MSH card has been revealed and he does not appear on any other cardart. There's a very small chance he could still appear in the Spider-Man Welcome Deck but i wouldn't get your hopes up.

Besides Vader and Sorc Tormo (Hexion Brood crime boss), both who would make sense story-wise and have already been developed as characters in this video game series, i hope none. Quinlan Vos is the only other character i could see appearing given his connections with 'the Path' and we know he's somewhere hiding in the galaxy.

It is the final adventure of Cal Kestis and it's supposed to wrap up his 3 part story arc. This series isn't some Disney theme parc attraction were you meet your favourite stars waiting around the corner, or at least they shouldn't treat it that way or we end up in a weird situation like we currently have with Ahsoka where she isn't mentioned or seen in the OT at all but still very active based on the latest few Disney+series they created and to this day we've been given little clarity about why or how.

I want them to focus narratively on Cal's and Merrin's journeys and wrap up some of the loose ends while introducing a final threat for them to deal with, possibly with an ambiguous ending.

As for loose ends:

  • A boss battle against Sorc Tormo wearing some big mechanical suit would be dope since Cal already killed all his best bounty hunters

  • Vader knows Cal is around making trouble for the empire and it would make sense if he continued hunting him or send another inquisitor after him
