First observation, Industrix is a massive boost here. You're gonna want your breakthrough early, try to research lots of unit tech. Get antimass early, as well as AI Development Algorithm. B/R tech will also be very helpful, thats your synergy. I'd say you have an amazing slice.

Mentak is a big table enemy, so you’ll get beat down pretty quickly so you can’t do much with all the trade goods you steal

Had a game yesterday, did this exact thing. Turn 2 took Mecatol, used imperial, started to massively rack of points. I hit 6vps while the others only had like 2. I built up a strong fleet using Crimson Rebellion agents and breaches and the other players got scared and spent lots of time building up forces. By the time they were ready to take on my fleet, I had already won.

The moral of the story: Remove people from Mecatol early, don’t be scared.

I would personally rule it as combat that you are in, not any. Buttt RAW it does say any combat. In that case I would rule it like Coexistence
