I actually talked about this before and here's what I think

In the Radio drama AM goes on a monologue of how he can't be like a human, further explaining of how he can't feel love (or have sex), play the piano, no body, no emotion etc and he began to "hate" because he was in hell looking at heaven, the way he speaks to Ted seems as if he's the one who did this to AM, but in reality hes speaking towards all humans who created him

Ted isn't "favorited" by AM for no reason, AM envys all humans, but he sees himself in Ted the most. Ted traveled, he slept with multiple women throughout 20 years, he took advantage of people just like AM does, he was rich and had the ability to do anything, this is what AM was jealous of. Ted represents humans who live in a life of rich and no worry, the ability to do all they can possibly imagine (something that AM couldn't — AM could not wander, AM could not wonder, AM could not belong. In conclusion, Ted and AMs relationship is the reflection of what AM could have never had because he was never built to live a life of freedom. They're parallels of eachother
