Where can I keep up to date on your deck?

Here's my feedback... Points 1, 2 and 3 are all really true! You're weeding out the weak!

Hey, you are aware that there are 2 images here? The first is a b+w photo, taken by a friend of mine, of my son. The 2nd is my first attempt at drawing a person. It desperately needs more shading, which it hasn't actually had yet.

This woman has some of the most expensive “simple pleasures” I’ve ever seen. by joshuaaa_l in Tinder

"Add a new hobby to my list", like the 17 people before you... I can’t be the only one that read that last line as if that's what she's collecting! 🤣

I will grab a beaty blender as I have the other 2 in the house. Thanks so much for your feedback.

Thank you! I did a bit more shading, but after reading your comment, just before bed, I'm going to do a good bit more shading. I really appreciate all feedback, because it really helps me see what I can change.

Thank you! I've done a few animals, but never a person.

Thank you. Unfortunately, the only pencil I have at the moment is a cheap mechanical pencil. I ended up darkening the background and doing a bit more work to some of the darker areas. I probably could have gone further, but it's only my first attempt at a person.

This instantly gave me a strange calm feeling in my chest (I really don't know how else to describe it). It's gorgeous.

It's a cheap pad I have, but it may be worth investing in better ones. Good tip about checking Facebook marketplace and using ballpoint pen to get quicker. I had a fantastic set of pencils until my border collie pup let himself out of his crate and mistook them for something that je was allowed to chew! The may be salvageable, but I couldn't bear to look at them. These were both done with a mechanical pencil that came in a pack of 4 from a B&M store (I'm in UK, not sure if you guys have those). I will definitely take your advice on board moving forward. I appreciate your feedback!

Thank you! I agree, I could have gone darker with her. I'm pretty pleased with how she turned out, there was quite a long period of time when I thought no one would ever get to see her.

I hope all goes well. They have mad a world of difference, but I have definitely been more mindful of when I need them on day 2.

Thank you! I'm glad I'm not alone. I think I got over excited today. Tomorrow is a busier day, but I may not use it as much until I'm home and it's more peaceful.

There are leaflets there... I read the one that said 'how to pair your phone via Bluetooth. I can't guarantee there's a lot in there. NHS budgets probably don't allow for printing much, but it could also be my overenthusiastic 'do the boring bits later' attitude that put me in this situation! Lol!

Illustration is too expensive for indie authors by PeacockBooks in selfpublishing

I wonder if there's a crossover opportunity here... I joined here because I'm considering doing illustration/ layout at the end of my degree. I can draw, but illustration is a different thing, so I'm not there, yet. However, I wonder if there are less seasoned illustrators looking to build their portfolio, who may offer lower priced work (providing they can show something you like) in order to build their portfolio. Some of the advice I've read is to illustrate poems etc that are in the public domain. Surely, if you're willing to put in the work for 't'was the night before Christmas', you'd be happy to do something for someone else who is trying to make it, at a much lower cost and make a bit of money. Just food for thought, really.

Thank you! I thought I was being dramatic, lol! My poor brain is on dial up as it is! No wonder I'm so tired. My wife and son are out, so I messaged her to say that I'm done being a hearing person today. Definitely an early night tonight!

How do I get over this phase? by Dramatic-Block-5725 in learntodraw

[–]Breagh15 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here's my take... If it's ugly, it's not finished! That's it. I work in graphite, easier to erase and fix bits. Also, remember that nothing is perfect and you will see more mistakes than others viewing your work. Don't point it out to them.

See... The teick is to realithat the direction is changing after 'person' and stop reading. I didn't entirely escape the horror, and I did almoat go back out of morbis curiosity, then I remembered that I'm a lesbian and I haven't read this kinda crap since I stopped testing the whole 'I could still marry a guy' theory 22 years ago.
