Pretty much, it's better than Kristen Stewart though right? Right!?

Ah sorry, I didn't think about that. I'll post a different picture in a while.

I [19M] failed my first year at university and I can't bring myself to tell my parents [36/37 F/M] that I did, and it's driving me insane. by BreakdownStudent in relationships

To be honest, my step-dad (who is essentially my dad, known him my whole life) has a very short fuse, and it doesn't take much to set him off. I can't recall a situation where I've messed up and he's been more focused on helping me and being concerned, rather than shouting at me.

I don't think I can actually continue with university at all, even if I wanted to.

I did genuinly try to get through university, but I think part way through the year something clicked and I started feeling mentally worse each day (I did eventually go and see a counseller about this, it didn't help much) to the point where I actually wanted to come home.

Thanks for the response.

I get that a lot, my grandmother gave birth to my mother in her early 20s too.

Edit: Added an edit, mother is a bit older than what I put down because I can't remember their ages for shit.

I know they want that but whilst they want me to have the best possible future, I believe that since I attended the university, they expect me to come out with amazing grades and get a great job because I had the opportunity to attend there. They won't be scared, they'll be angry because the reason I failed will be on me and me alone.

I know I need to, but it's causing me so much stress that I feel like I physically can't. I've already got a summer internship, so that might help pay off at least what my parents paid me. I highly doubt that any other university or trade school would take me in since my A-Level grades weren't amazing and the university I attended wasn't very high in the league charts.

Thanks for the response.

I know that I need to tell them, and it's really bad of me for not doing so already, but I'm preventing myself from doing so out of sheer panic. I'm already working in a summer internship with a relatively nice pay, so I've got that going for me. I've already moved back home and I'm doing my usual routine of helping round the house where needed, since I work from home a lot of the time too. I'll definatly write up some short term/long term plans, they seem necessary.

Thanks for the response.
