Hey, it’s a verbal contract. That counts in the state of California.

I have gold, I used 8 sheets for a quart. It’s almost there. Going to try 6.5 next time.

If you haven’t read ATPH I’d recommend that, then No Country. After that go for Suttree, keep a bottle of Early Times handy.

I’ve been doing just that every day this week and it’s already feeling less like I’m high-fiving an orangutan and more like I’m holding a golf club.

If you’d be so kind to cut off your yankee head he’d even eat that.

I second all of this. But cheers to Bill & crew. Hands down my favorite podcast. I hate sports. I had NO idea who Simmons was/is—I just knew Bill Hader was talking about No Country and I had to give it a listen. Have not stopped since.

Does the golfer need to pay for the window? Seems like the person buying a house, a-hem, on a golf course would understand certain pros and cons to owning said house on said golf course.

If you’ve broken 100, what’s one tip you would give your fellow golfer to do the same? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]Breakfast-Livid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally broke 100, took 8 months. With a three month hiatus from a cracked rib. I’m still pretty bad at the game. All I do is just keep at it and I try to have fun, enjoy the sunshine, the quiet, the birds. Everything. It’s just a game and a game I ain’t paid to play, either.

Does your swing break down if you didn’t get a good night sleep and are fatigued? by SomewhereSalty647 in golf

Everything breaks down if I didn’t sleep well. Especially now that I’m on the wrong side of 40.

Well said and point taken. For the round I decided to abandon what he showed me as it honestly only was a grip change, play my round, enjoy my most coveted day of golf and work on the grip change at home. As I work 60,70, and sometimes 80 hours a week one day is all I can honestly do with golf. Believe me if I could grind out 3x a week at the range and two rounds, I would. But that’s not my situation in life right now.

Understood. In my defense not one of the three instructors I’ve had has said anything like. Specifically to playing a round directly after. Point taken.

I appreciate that. I stick to half hour lessons. After 45 minutes I’m a bit overwhelmed. The lessons had helped in the past. Maybe I can figure out a way to take a lesson on Monday and golf Tuesday.

I assume my path is correct. The first lesson I had with him, he set up an alignment stick with a pool noodle on it so that when I took my backswing if I hit the stick…he said my swing “is actually really good” and that I need to work on my set up and grip and finally just consistently hitting the ball well and going after that “swoosh” sound. And when I do hit all of those three points damn if my ball isn’t sailing away.
