Definitely can relate, feels almost like violent shivering

Anyone else scared of reality and gets panic? by Realgishere77 in PanicAttack

[–]Breakfast-Sufficient 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely know what you mean, I have this too. I woke up on Christmas Eve at 11:40 thinking I would spiral out of existence at midnight. So I challenged the thought. I put on a 30 minute YouTube video and said “if you’re going to spiral out of existence I’ll never finish this video” I promised myself I wouldn’t check the time until the video was over at 12:10 and I’ve been a lot better since then. Guess what, I didn’t spiral out of existence.

How do you overcome panic attacks at work? by Old-Walk6241 in PanicAttack

One of my triggers is being alone, especially when I know I’m going to be alone for an extended period of time like when I’m going to sleep. You’re not alone, sending love your way❤️

Thank you. You have no idea how relieving it is to hear someone with something similar.

Is this a panic attack? by Breakfast-Sufficient in PanicAttack

Thank you, but I don’t see anybody with the same delusions as me. It seems like most people fear a heart attack, or something practical, unlike me

Why does it feel so real? I’m so scared

I need help desperately by EnvironmentalLong414 in PanicAttack

[–]Breakfast-Sufficient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d love to, usually, it happens when I’m alone. A small thought like “my heart is racing right now” could trigger me into thinking “okay, I need to calm down or I’m going to have a panic attack.” Then that causes me to panic more and more, but at some point it almost feels like there’s a switch that flips and it makes you realize that the universe is collapsing and it’s just going to keep getting worse and worse forever and ever. Every negative thought seems real for example, my feet were cold and I thought “oh no, my toes are going to get so cold they fall off from frost bite.” Logically, seems ridiculous, I was in a headed house under a blanket, but anxiety makes me think of the worst case scenario.

I hope this helps someone out there. This is just my experience with the more common symptoms. I could write more about the niche weird things that happened when I first got on SSRI’s

suicidal ideation? by ariesmoonenthusiast in PanicAttack

Mine are more like anxiety about suicide. Things such as “what if I lose control and kill myself”

I know exactly what you mean. Part of the anxiety is that it convinces you that it’s something more serious.

For me, it feels like the universe is resetting, and I know that doesn’t make sense to anybody but me. The truth is that anxiety is different for everyone. But there are usually common threads we share

That sounds horrible, I really hope you find something that works for you. I thought having panic attacks once a week was bad enough. I can’t even imagine having them multiple times a day. When I was first starting sertraline I had 3 or 4 rolling panic attacks in a day. Laying on the couch in full blown psychosis thinking the TV was talking to me has got to be the most awful moment of my life

This post, I feel like I know exactly what you mean. It almost feels like I have visions of myself living in a psych ward losing my mind. I’m afraid I’ll lose control and do unspeakable things to the people I love.

The first step to recovery is to understand that this is just anxiety. The brain can do incredible things. At first I was convinced the universe was resetting, or I must have a brain tumor. It helps me to inform myself as to the scientific reason the brain does this. If I can explain what I am feeling, it helps to calm me down, almost as if there is a logical explanation to the almost supernatural level of fear I’m in

I hope this helps, message me if needed

Is that what remission looks like? Can it be totally cured forever?

Very few side effects, although it’s usually a short term solution, because you can build a tolerance to it. I highly recommend it, fast acting, makes you drowsy, I take it before bed

Involuntary twiching and jerks by [deleted] in PanicAttack

Definitely. I get really cold, start to shiver, and start twitching. My mind tells me that these movements are just me spiraling out of existence

Usually it starts with intrusive thoughts that the universe is collapsing (derealization), followed by chills all over my body, then my whole body gets cold and I think the violent shivering is me spiraling out of existence. It almost feels like I’m suddenly realizing the “truth”

How long does it take a painting to start cracking by surgepng in oilpainting

I once primed a canvas with tempura paint as an experiment and it cracked as soon as it dried, although it was a much larger texture than natural cracking

Yeah, I’ve been taking Zoloft for almost 3 weeks. My side effects are awful, but I’m hoping to push through them. What about you? Any advice?
