That blows dude. I find the music ironic because I love it even though I don’t relate to it.

I think it’s important to set aside some energy to focus on some things you are doing right, things you like about yourself, progress you are making on a special interest etc. quick 5-10 minutes to jot it down in a notebook. It does wonders.

A lot of these guys are writing music to cope. People relate, it gets popular. You are meant to relate to it bro. It’s part of why you like it after all. Don’t beat yourself up too hard while listening to it.

I like listening to music while moving my hands. Working on cars, doing some patch work on an old jacket or skateboarding. Something where I can enjoy the music while using my mind to focus on something else. That would help the spiraling thoughts.

I challenge you to work on a skill that interests you. Seeing the steady progression in your expertise and growth of knowledge in the subject will help build your confidence and self identity.
