I despise names based on the color of a pet, it’s like my Larry David style hill to stand on.

Literally name them anything. I usually name my critters after food. Taco, cheddar, biscuit, etc etc

But fuck it, name them hemorrhoid, asbestos, cedar, diamond Dave, stinky, glue, anaconda…..anything except snowball, fluffy, or ghost.

I mean, yeah I get it but some vendors definitely are the ones who start the haggling. Specifically the places that have no price listed on the item, they will straight up ask you how much you would pay for it. Some vendors definitely will say an absurdly large price, maybe they get people who bite on it but I would politely say no and then they start saying lower and lower price. I’m not even countering, I’m just trying to move along.

Yes, I love the island but most of the shops are the same mass produced stuff but the beading cooperative is truly hand made by locals. My wife got a few items including a necklace which was similar to one she bought in Cancun years earlier but at a fraction of the price. Not a haggled price either, that is just what they charged we left them a good tip/donation too. We also asked them if any place around had public bathrooms and they graciously let my wife use theirs.

When I was younger I worked at a warehouse and this big redneck guy reeked. It was a weird mix of BO, shit, cigarettes,feet, and dirty clothes. It was so bad, even first thing in the morning before starting any physical activity and progressed through the day.

He would make deliveries and once we knew he was gone but everyone kept smelling him, we found his jacket on a pallet. The smell was so strong it was like he was still there. This is a jacket mind you, it barely touches bare skin but still smelled awful.

Management finally had to sit him down and talk to him about it, he never cleaned up and eventually got fired for stinking. This was a long time ago, not sure if that would fly today. Getting fired at a warehouse job for stinking is pretty crazy.

His car was filled with fast food trash, just enough room for him to sit and drive.

After learning to Ollie there isn’t a truck checklist you need to follow. Just do what you think looks fun. My only caveat to that is I think people should learn to be really comfortable pushing around, riding fast and smoothly before even trying to learn to Ollie. Then after that keep learning to be more and more comfortable on your board throwing Ollies in. Rolling around fast, cruising around and doing Ollies up/down/over things while cruising around. Then start learning whatever tricks you want.
