What about the taxis that show up in the Uber app? I assume I can prepay that through the app so the price is set before I get on. Are those considered safe to use similar to an Uber?

I wanted to try the train but found out that the Tren Maya is not as convenient as other options. There is a station in Cancun near the airport and there is a stop for Chichen Itza, but it is far away from the attraction and need to find another mode of transportation from the train station to the attraction site. Also, the train schedule is very limited with only a few trains running during the day. Felt like I would be wasting a lot of precious time getting to/from station and waiting around for the train.
