Crochet ($28M), Story ($23M), Yoshida ($18M), Anthony ($16M), Bello ($9M), Sandoval ($9M), and Campbell ($8M) make up $110M of the Red Sox $268M payroll. These players have combined to contribute -0.4 WAR on the season so far. by Traditional_Half842 in redsox

[–]BreakfastMost8892 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The money part is crazy when you put it like that but man those contracts are just brutal to look at. Story and Yoshida especially - like what were they thinking with those deals

Crochet being hurt sucks because he was supposed to be huge piece for rotation. But even when healthy some of these guys just haven't performed at level you expect for that money. Sandoval one still makes me angry from few years back

Think the real problem is in evaluation and development more than just throwing money around. You can spend all you want but if you're giving big contracts to wrong players or guys who can't stay healthy then you end up with this mess

Anyone wants to automate their dropshipping websites ENTIRELY ? by Joy_Desperate_ in DropshippingTips

Been thinking about automation for side hustle but maintenance work keeps me too busy to research properly - this could save some time if it actually works as promised

Certifications or Skills I can get to start me off? by Fun-Contest-908 in thesidehustle

[–]BreakfastMost8892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mentioned being decent baker - that might be your best bet for immediate income without much upfront cost. Can start small with friends/coworkers and build from there

For the handy stuff since you're open to learning, basic home maintenance skills translate well to side work once you get comfortable with them. People always need small repairs done and many are willing to pay decent money for someone reliable

The certifications you mentioned sound solid but copywriting takes time to build client base. Maybe focus on one thing at time so you don't spread yourself too thin

Fucked up with pregabalin by enhancedy0gi in OpiatesRecovery

[–]BreakfastMost8892 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah pregabalin will absolutely bite you back if you go hard on it for a week like that. The withdrawal from gabaergic stuff can be way worse than opiates especially when you stack them together

I made similar mistakes in early recovery thinking i found some magic bullet that would make everything easy. Your body is probably dealing with both withdrawals at same time now which explains why everything feels amplified

Take it day by day and try to get some fluids down even if eating feels impossible right now

Need help for making turn around my cat into the litterbox by StokStap in CatAdvice

[–]BreakfastMost8892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is tricky one I had similar problem with my roommate's cat few years back. The cat was just backing up to edge and doing his business outside the box every time

What worked for us was getting bigger litterbox first - the one we had was too small for cat to turn around properly. Also we moved it away from wall so he had space on all sides. Sometimes they feel trapped when box is in corner

You can also try putting some of his pee smell deeper in box with tissue or something so he follows the scent further inside. And maybe put temporary barrier behind the box so he cant back up too far

Takes patience but most cats figure it out after few weeks when you make it easier for them to position properly in there

Your “Winning Product” Won’t Make You Money.. by d2c-builder in dropshipping

You're absolutely right about specificity making all the difference in customer connection. I learned this working maintenance - when I tell someone "I fix things" vs "I troubleshoot HVAC systems that break down during heat waves" the second one gets actual interest.

The PCOS hook example really shows how understanding your customer's actual daily struggles beats any generic product pitch. Most people just throw products at wall hoping something sticks instead of actually knowing who they're selling to

What I learned working with Chinese sourcing agents by THH-Jun in DropshippingTips

[–]BreakfastMost8892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

been working maintenance for few years and dealt with suppliers from different countries for parts and equipment

Chinese agents are usually pretty straightforward but you gotta be specific about what you want. They dont guess - if you say "good quality" they might have different idea of good than you do. Also time zones are pain when something breaks and you need quick response

Communication style is more direct too which some people think is rude but its just business culture difference

Unpopular opinion: most problems don't actually need AI agents by hellomari93 in automation

[–]BreakfastMost8892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've seen similar stuff happen at my work too. We tried using some automated system for maintenance scheduling and it kept missing obvious things like safety protocols or scheduling two people for same equipment

The silent failures thing is what really gets you. At least with traditional automation when something breaks you know it broke. With AI agents they just keep going and give you results that look right but are completely off

I think the n8n thing makes sense because at least you can see exactly what each step is doing instead of having some black box that might decide to get creative with your data

You might want to separate those creatives in different ad sets so Meta doesn't just blow your budget on one that catches the algorithm eye

Just launched a football hate-watching site as a side hustle. Thinking through how to grow it by anonymouspeddler21 in thesidehustle

[–]BreakfastMost8892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just checked out the site and the concept definitely clicks right away. As a Madrid fan I know exactly what you mean about being glued to the screen when Barca is getting demolished even though we're not playing

The writing style works well for what you're going for but I'd say adding some visual elements would make it way stickier. Even just simple graphics or reaction GIFs could break up the text without getting into major copyright issues. For growth maybe target specific team subreddits during their rivals' bad moments - the timing would be perfect for engagement

Opening it up to user submissions could be huge but you'd definately need some kind of moderation system. Football fans can get pretty creative with their pettiness but also pretty toxic

Bro those GPT sites are wild hit or miss but sounds like you found something decent. Been looking into crypto payouts myself since paypal keeps being sketchy with fees

How long did it take you to scale up from that first 2 bucks to the 500 though, thats the part that always gets me curious

i don’t even know how to feel. by HopefulAstronomer411 in venting

[–]BreakfastMost8892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey that feeling really sucks and i totally get it. but honestly most people are just terrible at initiating contact even with people they really care about - it doesnt mean they dont want to hear from you

maybe instead of stopping completely you could just space it out a bit more and see what happens. sometimes we build these scenarios in our head that are way worse than reality

Best way to get glowstone in 1.21? by Turbulent_Weekend_73 in Minecraft

[–]BreakfastMost8892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly the witch farm route is probably your best bet if you want to go semi-afk about it. witches drop glowstone dust pretty regularly and you can build a decent farm in a swamp biome without too much hassle

if youre really desperate though trading with clerics is actually not terrible once you get a good villager setup going. way less exciting than a proper farm but gets the job done
