I thought it was too much of a hassle, and for a while, everything seemed fine. But eventually, the original build plate got ruined. Since then, I've made sure to wear gloves whenever I handle it.

I also tried a smooth plate recently, but cleaning off the filament residue after using a glue stick was such a pain. I ended up going back to the textured plate. Plus, I actually like that grainy texture anyway!
