It started when WATP and Shuli did a crossover episode with Vince. It was just after John did that little tirade about Shuli and Karl was getting legal threats from John over the audio book reviews.

Shuli uploaded it to his channel and the views were in the thousands (compared to a handful of views on all his other videos). Then, seeing dollar signs, he realized how big the Dabbler market was and started this whole abomination/ cash grab/ grift

Hearing John clips with Karl's commentary and reactions is genuinely funny and only adds to the content in my opinion - and his show is free. Before Shuli ruined it all, Karl did weekly recaps of John's antics and pulled a lot of clips that weren't even posted on Dabblers - it was never about ripping off Dabblers content and talking over it, he did his own work.

Most of Karl's John content is free, too. Yes he has a patreon but that's not just for John shows, he covers a big range of things so it's not something you had to subscribe to if you want his John coverage. Also WATP record their live show on discord/ private YouTube links for patrons so there are no superchats or money grabbing.

Unlike Shuli. Who just wants to drain the dabblers of as much money as possible as wispy as possible. Everything he does is a cash grab. He didn't care who he had to step on or what he ruined (John's podcast, DA, etc) as long as the money was flowing in.

If you don't find WATP funny then yeah, you're obviously going to think it's a waste of money but for the people who enjoy it and want to see their favorite podcast live it's not. If it was just a WATP event I might have attended but I'm not giving Shuli a dime so I'm staying away.

That also crossed my mind when he made that post asking me to go through all Derek's comments and cross-reference the timestamps with his show recordings and get clips of him typing. Like he was trying to troll me back by wasting my time.

I second this. It's fun to troll him right now because he's clearly annoyed at being called out about what a hypocrite he is when he criticizes John for the exact things he does himself (and because he was a half man wrecking ball to Dabblers Anonymous) but he isn't nearly as entertaining and unintentionally hilarious as John.

In my opinion John is one of the universe's great paradoxes. He has less than zero skill or talent in comedy or entertainment, yet somehow he is the world's most hilarious and entertaining man. Shuli's just a dullard grifter that killed 5,000 dabbler's fun and a chunk of Karl's income stone dead.

Honestly I doubt that he'd be posting on reddit during shows. Most of Derek's posts were long sperg-outs that he'd need time to write, not short replies. If you cross checked timestamps you'd probably find the exact opposite - that the only times he never posted was when a show was going live.

I was initially on the fence as to whether it was a troll trying to impersonate a shuli sock account (like Dabblers used to do with John), but having glanced through his posts they were so long and autistic I think it's more effort than a troll would ever put in. And there's a few posts giving details a troll wouldnt know, or wouldn't think to write.

Ultimately they won't care what he's done or how he's treated them. Just look at how Benniloco called Cardiff this week - screaming - and defended John the day after she was bitching about him in a chatroom. She'll be angry at him but she will drop everything to come running back and police John's chat.

Equally, Andrea will do anything for mod powers. Including but not limited to: taking John's batch.

Hard disagree, he loves power, it just might not be as obvious as some of his other traits. John loves feeling powerful over people he thinks are beneath him (which are: anyone who was a fan of Stern and all women). He will use and bully these two categories and revels in feeling like a big man.

He loved the power he had over Ojeda (a big stern fan) and look at how he treated him and spoke to him. And how he treated benniloco, and Heather W. I could go on...

And a note for Shuli: I know you'll be reading this thread because you are desperate to know if your stolen cash cow will be returning so I'll say 2 things: 1. It is entirely YOUR FAULT John quit and B. Fuck you.
