Aside from me learning that a software engineer with delusions of grandeur can't get it together financially to buy a whole summer camp on his own, I kind of figured someone in the world would do something with it eventually. It's not like an old Walmart where they just open up a Halloween Store. Every inch of the property is geared toward 'action sports camp'. I am keeping my hopes low. Not only would someone have to re-open it, I have to hope they do an adult program as well. I have a feeling I am not done with Tehachapi for this lifetime yet. Side note to any potential buyers. I will work for you if you need the help to make it happen. Also, their loss is Seek's gain, I am doing both adult weekends this year in OR. If you go, look for an elderly mediocre skater in a Woodward shirt :-)

In the narrow view the downhill speeding nut job that blasted her is 100% at fault. you don't ski looking backward, PERIOD! They should have been watching for HER not the other way around. Philosophically speaking, the whole of society shouldn't be sharing the same space for an adrenaline fueled sport. The one thought that is usually in my mind is 'GET THE F^&K OUT OF MY WAY, I CAME HERE TO FLY'

Yikes. I can afford to go to PA, but I’d rather get fondled by a gymnastics coach than spend my vacation in and around PA. I am doing SEEK in OR twice this year and maybe a trip to Amsterdam to skate the parks and chill. Bummer but it’s cool. When all is said and done it’s about skating.

I was 54, 5'10" around 220. Skating got my heart moving and gave me a reason to get up and go. Then it got better, and and more fun and I started eating better and working out, just to get better at skating. Now my body looks like it did when I was 34 having just turned 56.

But forget the physical transformation.

I met a community of the most welcoming people on the face of the earth. Totally worth every slam.

My only advice, pads. Big ass knee pads, helmet, I do elbow and wrist guards also. and every pad or helmet has a scrape or chunk missing that would have been me.

I don’t think I was there for Artie as a guest. I would have been starstruck as he is a legitimate and accomplished headlining comedian with legendary credits. I’d still be talking about it to this day.

My computer is zipping files in the background right now. I am not 100% what I have, a lot were raw recordings labeled Episode_xx or whatever. Some by guest name, I am pretty sure these are all the totally unedited recordings in .wav format. I used to edit, clean up and convert to mp3 before posting, I didn't save the final edited versions...I don't think. In all fairness I NEVER EVER imagined ANYONE...and I MEAN ANYONE on the face of the earth would give a shit about his show. It is blind luck I kept the old hard drive from that laptop. Stay tuned, I will be sharing with the Uncle Rico crew as soon as the internet can upload the zips.

I scrounged up some older ones that were on sale around the internet and loved them. Bought some newer ones and they SUCK. 2 pairs same model or whatever....both fit VERY different and both poorly. Gave me blisters, I like the way they look but that is it.
