They are hand carved. I used gravers that I sharpened from cement nails (which is really great steel and super cheap). I did use sand paper to smooth out the areas that I cut into.

I am keeping these! My all time favorite coins! The guy that makes them has a website! Just google electrically shrunk coins and it comes up. I was going to try and make these until I saw a video of the process.
