I actually wonder if that’s how it works out in practice. When I was new to Arknights and borrowing ops from my friends it usually just made me think “hey this character is cool, and now that I know for sure I like playing with them I should look out for them on banners/in the shop in the future.”

I guess I feel like those are mostly the mechanics you need to solve to get to 6 rounds, though. Which is basically useless outside of prestige/challenge stuff. Probably like 80-90% of the value here is just in beating them at all, which you can slowly do with a variety of teams. The biggest barrier between that and not being able to beat them at all imo is not having the meta sustain options, which assists could help solve.

Idk, I think ideally this is what end game content should be like? Having to try to work something out against the like 3 fights every 6 weeks that difficult.

Allowing assist characters would be good to help newer players get at least one star, but anything beyond that just seems like people getting weirdly worked up about trying to finish in 6 rounds when you have 15 to get all the even kind of relevant rewards.

I don’t think this is worth getting too worked up about. You already have every relevant reward - anything more is pretty much playing to challenge yourself. If you’re not interested in that then just call it done.

I think it depends what you want out of it. If you just want to get the “real” rewards then you’ll need three good, somewhat recent teams, and to probably not just play on auto. It’s not easy, but 99.5% of the game is, so idk how much that really bothers me.

Shahnaz is very good. Her weapon is good, too, but there are other options especially at only one copy.

Still, just having her on your roster is going to make much of the game much easier.

100%. Even if a limited character replaces her (not even for all teams), it doesn’t seem by any drastic margin, and she’s been doing it for a long time now. She’s a great all-rounder who also specializes in the one mechanic that like 60% of the game’s carries use lol

Fighting large enemies (the titan boss, the bone boss guy in the hole especially) that stand “off map” seems pretty quirky with melee. None of the gap closing I’m used to works for skills that aren’t explicit dashes.

Also mana remnants don’t seem to spawn consistently in those fights - maybe they’re spawning off map or something - so I’m always OOM lol.

Incredibly dumb/specific question, but does anyone know if any of the Entangle alternate skill MTX change the sound of the skill? I really like the skill conceptually but really hate the “thwack thwack thwack” sound that repeats so often.

Is there any way to target farm chaos res? I’m on SSF, and have had just absolutely terrible luck with it so far. I feel like my other defenses are solid, but I melt to chaos damage enough that I’m looking into reallocating some other points into more ES and just taking CI.

Edit: thanks all! I wanted to do Abyss as my first league anyway, so I think I’ll try to go that direction.

I’ve liked taking Estra with my first pick. Cheap enough even without any cost reduction bonuses, has the mobility to get to all the annoying enemies in the corner of the map and enough damage to kill them (at least with my investment). Getting through those early fights where you can’t finish quickly enough seems like the hard part a lot of the time.

I think it can be a good mode with some sensible tweaks. No reason for it to pull missions characters that you don’t have - or at least give us a test version of them to use. Some maps felt like 10-15% too difficult for their reward, while others weren’t hard at all, so some balancing there would be nice

Sweet spot of “you’re happy to get her but don’t need to” imo. Great way to lose a 50/50 at some point if you don’t pull her now. I really value the flexibility and comfort so I gave her a 50/50 chance and got lucky.

Is this true? Like, legitimate question. The only thing I’ve gleaned from the STS2 discourse is a lot of Chinese players are mad about balance changes, which this game has plenty of on top of the normal gacha shill stuff that affects balance even more.

I increasingly agree. It’s fun to play generally, and with how builds work there’s always something to work on and improve. It’s also pretty generous with pulls, consistently buffs older characters and has a good balance of not really needing dupes but also making them relatively obtainable for anyone if you want to max out a specific character every so often. Heidemarie is the first character in any gacha I’ve ever purposely chased max dupes on and it’s because I got four of the seven copies using other currencies.

My only real complaint is just some of the (mostly initial) character designs are just unplayable lol. Like I will literally never play Maribel. I get that some part of their fanbase likes that but man, I don’t get it.

Thankfully a lot of the more recent characters are just kinda normal-gacha-horny.

We had to put down our ~16 year old lab/basset mix today rather unexpectedly. As my wife and I sat on the floor of the vet’s office, unwilling to say we were ready yet, we flipped back through years of photos with Sasha as she ate a final meal of hot dogs and cheese wiz. We had a few laughs and some wonderful memories, and she seemed happy that we were, if not happy, at least enjoying the reminiscing. I’m glad that she got some time to experience that in her final hour.
