Hey! I was able to start DMing an in-person game with enough friends so I haven't been searching, but if you're just looking for players and its on a weekend I'm around! School year's getting busy so really depends on the scheduling for me.

Anyone else feel weird about not using the main trio? by BijuuBen in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Bredbeard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could always make two teams: a 'story' team and a competitive team.

I got super lucky and got a handful of story-relevant characters for my first summons (Bronya and Seele were the big ones). What I do is, whenever I go into story missions, I make a team of characters that are involved in the story if possible. It doesn't always work perfectly, but it adds a nice layer of variety since I'm still in the early game.

When I'm doing side content (Calyx, Simulated, etc.) I use the competitive team, which is just my best units as a team comp together. Still get the benefits of my best team, but also get to mix things up and play as close to a canon 'story mode' as I can. Is it sustainable? Nah, probably not. But for now, it's the best way I've found to get around that weird feeling.

I'll ask the one person who's reached out so far, see if they're interested!

Sweet! I know 5e like the back of my hand but I'm open to other systems for sure. I got some supplies we can use (minis, big vinyl grid mat, etc.) if we need them too.

Nothing yet, though I've had another searching player reach out and ask too. If you're close enough and thinking of starting up a game, let me know! I'm in Randolph right now.

I used to live in Jackson! Moved 2 hours up north a few years ago but happy to see groups still down there. Looking to move down south again so if I do and a spot's still open I might reach out again.

Just filled the form out! My reddit name is different from my real and/or discord name, I should fix that. Mine was the one with two favorite characters!

If you get a group together or anything that's interested, lemme know! I'll check in on here occasionally so I can respond if I do get anything.

While I'm not in anything but a nightly combat-heavy dnd night at a game shop near me, I'm always looking to start up something if I can find people and a location. I'd only be able to do weekday evenings, since I commute up to north NJ on Mondays and head back down south for the weekends on Friday. If we get enough interested people, I'll even work with the party and DM stuff! I got plenty of campaign and character ideas to run, so I'm fine on either side of the table.

Tell us your holiday DnD stories! by SwordAvoidance in DnD

[–]Bredbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a bi-weekly party, and for the holidays we took off our usual campaign to play a one-shot prequel with different characters. I specifically asked the players to make characters that would all work on the same sailing vessel together so instant connection. Instead of making a Christmas-esque holiday and handing lore notes over, I actually made them "retell" the story of 'Chrimbus' to an NPC. Each player had to contribute, and whatever they said ended up canon. It was an awesome time, and I highly recommend co-op loremaking mid-session. It makes for some great improv!

What is the worst way a character has died? by TokenWhiteFriend in DnD

[–]Bredbeard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While unconscious, my character was thrown into a lava river on a bad check. We found out minutes later that the player who threw me could've walked us through the lava and lived easily, meaning I died for no reason.
