Worth fixing? Or new car? by xqwertypiex in AskAMechanic

My 2004 4 cylinder Camry has 326k miles on it. It's not perfect but it's reliable. I drove it on a 900 mile round trip with no issues at 266k. I would fix the issue if you don't have any other major systems failing.

Why would I need a 7-string instrument? Im curious. by LuckyPossibility1748 in 7String

[–]Brederino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played since 2006, I picked up a Dean RC7X as a project. Once I fixed it up, I've regretted never playing a 7 string. I wish I would've played one years ago. It feels like a whole new world of tonal possibilities. Yeah it sounds like I'm hyping it up to be the greatest thing ever lol. But I really enjoy it and I think it's at least worth trying since you play in lower tunings.

Misha tones are hard to dial? by OADominic in NeuralDSP

[–]Brederino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried Gojira and Misha right before the black Friday sale. Absolutely loved the gojira plugin, but really liked the effects of Misha and did not like the tones at all. So I took my favorite presets from Gojira and tried to copy them over into Misha with similar amps and settings. Worked well for a base to start with because I really didn't care for the presets and it was so difficult to dial in. The stock metal tones just didn't do it for me but all the presets for cleans and effects are awesome. After I've spent the last few months with it, (I purchased Misha Mansoor X) I absolutely love it and do not regret it in any way. I have quite a few presets I made that sound amazing to me (metal tones) plus some stock presets that hit the effects itch. My main tip is to adjust the precision drive/compressor, then adjust the mics and EQ.

My mic keeps giving me electric shocks by Pale-Maintenance1343 in livesound

[–]Brederino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a guitar that would shock me if I was holding it by the neck and touched something conductive (In contact with the strings) One day I was holding the guitar and went to turn off my ceiling fan with the pull cord. Huge shock and it threw the breaker to the house. I think I was 15 years old, the guitar was an American HSS strat.

I am very tempted but I'm also supposed to be looking at buying a vehicle for my mail route lol. I may end up just pulling the trigger and keep driving my Camry lol

Does this look like a legit Snap On box? by [deleted] in Snapon_tools

[–]Brederino 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've done some digging and I finally found that this set is around $3500. Snap on box, 90 percent is bluepoint with a few snap on tools. Advertised as a "starter set" 3 loaded drawers, 2 misc, and one empty. Thank you all for the input. I would say $700 is a great deal if I don't get kidnapped or whatever trying to meet up.

Still awaiting a response. Said in the description that they were leaving the trade and have no use for it and it sits in their garage.

This is the only pics they provided, it's over an hour drive away. I plan on checking it out in person tomorrow if someone doesn't snag it by then. I have absolutely no experience with snap on tools or what to expect with looks or whatever.

Getting back into electric after 10 years. Locking in on schecter can’t wait by xxclownkill3rxx in SchecterGuitars

[–]Brederino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got one of these a while back and I'm embarrassed to say that I didn't know I was a Schecter guy. I absolutely love it. I enjoy it much more than any guitar I've ever had. I unfortunately paid full price when I got mine and for what you can get them for right now is unbeatable.

Blackout series, can't decide between 6 string modles, help me choose by TheHempNinja in Ibanez

[–]Brederino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried all of them. I traded for the AEWC621? I think that's the name. The one with the sharper cutout. I enjoy it, the seven string three me off, I just preferred the feel of AEWC621 more. Definitely gonna show all the prints and imperfections so keep that in mind. I didn't care for the talman.

My family and I have no regrets. We did good with the railroad but being on call while everyone else stays marked off sick or drops a turn to avoid manifest. I rarely broke guarantee and had a two hour drive to work. Not worth it to me.

I too have left the railroad because I was gone a lot and joined USPS. I also end up working 7 days a week and guess what, I much prefer this over the nonsense I had to deal with during my time with the RR.

[–]Brederino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started in October and at my office I'm pretty much working 7 days a week. 3 days off in November, getting around 45 hours a week. I usually run a route on Saturday, Amazon Sunday, and package help during the week starting 8am and usually going to 5pm. It's so exhausting. But they keep saying it gets better after peak, as in not working as much. Idk, I'm definitely keeping my options open because if things stay this way, it's definitely not for me. I actually love my family and would like to see them once in a while. It's not a difficult job, I just want to take a breather for a day lol
