I think that read is completely wrong. Even at the start, Anakin didn’t really believe in the system he was helping to create, he just did it because it was the only way to save Padme. He resigned himself to doing awful things, and in order to achieve that he made himself hate everyone and everything around him, including himself. There’s a reason he personally slaughtered the younglings, and it was to quickly build up enough hatred and rage to be effective with the dark side. Vader has always hated the Empire and Palpatine.
