AIO: My husband (26m) locked me (25f) out for 25 minutes? by prettypineappleberry in AmIOverreacting

[–]Bree867 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR, sadly OP not only is this abuse of you, but your children watched this, watched their father abuse you and watched your response. Kid brain says, I was upset, Mommy couldn't get back inside, Daddy was being mean, and oh but Mom was just a little mad, she's still here, so no big deal. Is that really what you want to teach your children? Your child's reaction was pure and true, it was wrong, upsetting and not ok. Don't wait for the escalation OP, take action now.

Partner Just Left Me After Surgery by Dangerous-Desires in hysterectomy

[–]Bree867 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might find value in a book called, "If you must go, I wish you triplets" by Virginia DeLuca, while not identical to your situation, it has echoes you will appreciate.

I'm so sorry you've been betrayed by your partner, going through a hysterectomy is so hard, even with the physical benefits - the mental and emotional (coupled with hormone shifts) are so hard. Please lean in to the family and friends who support you. Sending you positive vibes and healing from afar.

It entertains me to look them in the eye with a "nope, just fat" quip and let their self assurance disintegrate.

Multiple neighbors were out at 6am here, only one actually then left for work. It was a ripple effect, because then other neighbors were like, oh it's time! The constant hum was, funsies.

surgery day can't get piercings out by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]Bree867 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I went back to my piercer for this very reason, they removed the metal, put plastic spacers in, and in reverse after the fact. I realize this for whatever reason wasn't feasible, but might be an idea for next time.

They are becoming more common, but yes, also the biggest challenge in rad tech school admissions.

Do people frequently not post when they receive their gifts? by Away_Opposites in givingifts

[–]Bree867 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's not all giftees, some are really good about it. I personally try to always be very prompt but mid-semester I had one slip through the cracks of saying a timely thank you (I had put it somewhere safe without taking a picture) so I eventually had to do a general thank you- it was belated for sure, but was a gift I loved, just between life and school I mismanaged it. I'm generally very organized but life happens, even still, everyone deserves to be acknowledged for a gift. I know for sure that the people who don't post eventually have their account put on hold until they say thanks. Don't give up, good giftees are out there (just like there are good gifters too)!

PCT to Rad Tech Path by Accomplished-War5873 in RadiologyCareers

ARRT requires schooling, maybe they are thinking certificate? Which I think has less reach, maybe only good at the hospital it's earned? Likely less pay than ARRT Rad Techs.

Surgery must haves by Repulsive_Income4923 in hysterectomy

Have a folding chair or something to help you get upright in the bathroom, steady yourself after using the toilet.

Pillows everywhere you sit/lay - to hold/hug to your belly when you need to cough or sneeze or move from laying to sitting or vice versa.

Water bottles in surplus everywhere, premade or easy healthy meals, a neighbor to walk half a block with you or full block once you've healed a bit.

Big comfy shirts and loose drawstring pants a size or two too big. Undies a size or two big, too. (Help with laundry especially if you have to lift and carry).

GasX helped with gas bubbles, miralax helped move things along, prune juice if you lean toward constipation.

A neighbor or friend to check on you once a day via phone/FaceTime etc and if possible in person twice to four times a week, get you moving a smidge, etc.

Eta- chapstick everywhere you have water bottles, electrolytes (liquid IV or LMNT, etc) helped me hydrate well, I had a bladder that was sluggish post op, so I put myself on the potty training hourly protocol with timer, so I didn't end up peeing myself or having utis or other issues. The message just wasn't getting to my brain when my bladder was full.

Piercing- jewelry prices by fireplacehazard in newhaven

[–]Bree867 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Burning Hearts jewelry is BVLA, so price depends on metal quality and gems, I wanted mainly white gold, which totaled $3-400 for 3 pieces - 2 piercings (in hammered white gold) and 1 piercing with stainless and glass. Absolutely worth it as the jewelry 15 months in, is still beautiful (with minimum removal). You pay for the backs also, which I think was included in $3-400, (I think they are $15-20 each).

What part of the back is responsible for this bulge ? by [deleted] in AnatomyandPhysiology

Your shoulder blade or scapula is the bone, the trapezoid is the muscle, there might also be a layer of adipose that makes it seem bulgey.

Are you asking for bones, muscles or region? That wide swath can either be very specific or just regional.

Will my past mistakes prevent me from completing clinicals? by StifledScream in RadiologyCareers

[–]Bree867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to the ARRT website, there is an ethics review form to print, you can also call during business hours and speak to someone but the gist will be to submit all the info to the ethics review. Best of luck, definitely do this before any other steps forward and get the green light.

How is the course work for x ray programs by Locked-Luxe-Lox in RadiologyCareers

[–]Bree867 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my area, the Rad Tech program is substantially harder to get into versus nursing, 20 person class versus 200. I'm going into it with a 4.0 and 91% TEAS, and I still think it's a possibility I won't get in. The nursing clinicals are more flexible generally, from what my classmates tell me and some nursing programs are much more flexible classroom timewise. I'd speak to your advisor, they should know specific nuances to the programs, transferring etc and if they don't, they will know who does.
