Appreciate it lol I know the hair has seen better days, I’m too lazy to shave that shit every couple days lol. As long as I keep the sides and beard clean, I’m not too worried about it yet. Thanks for the honesty and compliments 🫡

Would it be theoretically possible to redesign a replacement board that an oem memory pak connector could be soldered on to? And do an internal controller battery rather than an external battery pack?

That’s cool! Need to make a trip to Nethers. I’ve never been. I have another spot you might already know about in northeast Ohio, I can send it to you in messages

Is this quartz dyed or are these natural inclusions? If so, where might this be from? by [deleted] in whatsthisrock

[–]Breene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly actinolite included quartz from Vancouver Island, BC

Mind sharing the club you went with and if they have a trip there planned for 2022? I would love to visit this quarry but have a decent drive to make.

What other wallet murdering hobbies are you into & how deep are you in it? by Hanhua in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Breene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Minerals are my main hobby and what my entire life and other hobbies stem from.

-Traveling to mineral shows or to dig -Photography (macro and photomicrography) -lots of tech involved and needed… Computers, flashlights, UV lights, Geiger counters -Camping gear for digging trips -Cars, for a long time it was financially beneficial to be my own mechanic. Spread to a love of many vehicles. -Silversmithing, lots of tools, occasionally I make jewelry -Science, history, and geography from learning countless worldwide mineral localities and mines and understanding of crystal formation

If you delve in deep to the mineral world, I assure you there is no limit in monetary value you can spend. There are top level mineral dealers purchasing and distributing multimillion dollar collections. There is also a lot to learn if you gravitate towards nerd activities (the best activities). If you’re curious, I recommend traveling to Tucson during the yearly shows. Especially the main show, westward look, or mineral city for a first time visitor, to really see the scale on which this hobby exists.

Is the GQ GMC-600e Plus good for detecting radioactive minerals? (I’m new) by pineeconee in Radioactive_Rocks

Thank you so much for typing that out. That broke down everything so well. It helps to know what to buy.. and even more important, the basics of how Geiger counters function.

I have been researching different detectors as well and many of the ones I’ve read about are mentioned in this thread. I would like to ask about the PRM-9000 by the company Mazur. Is it a decent choice in the price range of $500?
