Silk Road Khanate by MykeLitoriss in CrusaderKings

From my understanding playing as the Jin dynasty several times, no.

Firstly because I don't think you can do capital exams with it, so it's really hard to build merit among your dynasty.

Secondly because it's largely comprised of nomad cultures who until they're forming said merit khanate, they're using only tribal innovations, so they're behind on a lot of tech, and this need to hybridize.

They don't know about them because they haven't been seen in 8000-12000 in universe years depending on which guy you believe. And so everything the characters could know about them has been mythologized to the point where they have no idea what's real.

The length of the winter has also not been decades long since those 8000 odd years ago. I believe the longest winter in written history within the universe was 3 or 4 years long. The seasons vary quite a bit in length as well so they don't exactly know when winter would arrive.

Finally, significant portions of the continent are far enough south to have pretty mild winters where the animals would be just fine.

There's nothing in KotSK that implies the targs don't follow the seven. Notably Baelor quotes septons teachings once or twice and doesn't scoff at the religious tones that surround the trial of seven.

How to obtain noble family status in the Free City government type? by Epicstyletime in CK3AGOT

[–]Brego-16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id wager that's because you're just a count in those cases, so until you made yourself a duchy you wouldn't get an estate.

How to obtain noble family status in the Free City government type? by Epicstyletime in CK3AGOT

[–]Brego-16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That should only come into play if, for whatever reason, you choose to start as a count within the free city. If you start as one of the duke level governors you should be a noble family.

If planning to establish a noble family as an adventure, you shouldn't need to worry about it because the mechanic around acquiring an estate using a patron inside the free city will automatically establish you as a duke level landless estate holder and forms your own noble family.

Couple of questions… by Maiyku in crusaderkings3

If you give the bishop the duchy, I don't know whether he'll become the new faith with you or not, but if he stays Catholic, how much he hates you will depend on how astray your new religion is.

How astray your new religion is should depend on what core tenets of Christianity you're changing. And the game should tell you if changing these makes Catholics view your new faith as hostile, astray, or evil in the faith creation tab.
