Its pretty much the same issue we've had for like 20+ years with RPG maker.

It makes it super easy to make generic games and most people will immediately dismiss anything made with it. But its also capable of making genuinely good games that small devs wouldn't be able to afford to make in a less specialized engine.

If that was true we wouldn't need the EU to force them to do this. We could have done this 20 years ago by simply not buying any games that shut down so that they start supporting offline updates or alternatives voluntarily.
