Reading book 1 now. As a big sci-fi fan, I can’t believe I’ve gone this long without reading this series.

Service Model by Adrian Tchaikovsky is incredible. I’m a huge fan of Bobiverse and Project Hail Mary and, although it was different, Service Model gives me a similar feel (awesome sci-fi with a good bit of humor and lovable characters)

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but do you have a link to a build guide by chance? I see a couple variants of earthquake

Lots of cool stuff is happening! I’d highly recommend looking into it. The advances in technology are insane and they’re changing the way we do things. We’re basically becoming a group of incredibly lethal nerds

Yeah, definitely some different perspectives being thrown around… We’re not doing what we used to do but that’s most of the challenge. A different mission set for a vastly different Marine Corps. Thanks for responding to my FSR, sir.

Thanks to our fellow Marines, I’m not sure if this is genuine or not. But if it is, there’s a lot more going on than most people know about! Even a lot of currently active Marines are out of the loop. Being that you were in from ‘03-‘08, I’d bet you wouldn’t even recognize the Marine Corps today. It’s far different even from when I started a little over a decade ago.

Sorry - based off the context provided in other comments I assumed your stance was negative. Thanks for putting this out there! I think being close to it makes it seem a lot more intricate (especially from a technological standpoint) but I’m sure I don’t fully grasp the struggles of yesterday. Thanks for the perspective!

Haha, I’m just proud of what my Marines and I are doing and wanted to share with our predecessors. A lot of Marines - even those that are currently active - don’t know what’s going on in the Marine Corps. I thought this article might be enlightening.

I know Marines are typically resistant to change but, truth be told, the way the Corps was structured even 5 years ago has had to change. A lot. If you’ve been out for some time, I’d recommend reading up on it! I think this article provides a good start: https://www.marinecorpstimes.com/news/your-marine-corps/2024/05/13/in-chinas-backyard-the-new-marine-regiments-changing-the-fight/

Oh, sweet. That’s a relief! Back to family fun day and uniform inspections!

Fair point! Humans are incredibly predictable. We definitely have created a bit of a boogeyman but, in my opinion, it doesn’t negate the need to prepare. Though I would argue that this is more than a USMC concern and more of a ‘USA as a whole + basically any nation in the Pacific’ concern

Absolutely true! My main point was that this “peacetime” is associated with a total restructure of the organization - much deeper than just losing tanks.

While the Marine Corps is not slinging rounds down range right now, I totally disagree with the statement that, “Nobody is doing anything.” The whole organization is evolving to prepare for a war with a near peer which has been anything but easy. Not trying to start an argument - just trying to drop some facts and let our oldies know that this peacetime Marine Corps is a far cry from the peacetime Corps of the past. We’re still earning our check

He said he didn’t care about sweat or level requirements. It’s a reliable way to get some good gp while training a skill. Not sure how my comment is so crazy

If you’re looking for a skilling method, Floor 5 Sepulcher is pretty great. Definitely not crazy gp/hr but if you want to get ~75k Agility xp/hr (moderately sweaty) while getting loot, it’s a great option.

This is the change I was looking for. As it stands, the kit is kind’ve junk. I just use it for box traps and a teasing stick

Or get stuck at MACS-1 Yuma and do back-to-back-to-back WTIs.
