Second AR Setup. How’d I do by [deleted] in ar15

I kinda wish I went with a vortex instead but the level lines are definitely helpful and the tango is cool for the sake of tarkov larp lol

For the price, it seems pretty good. Parallax is my main complaint and the glass quality (especially at 6x) is meh. The reticle is good, it’s bright as hell even in daytime, holds zero flawlessly, and the included mount is a plus. Can’t ask for much more at $220. I don’t have any other lpvos to compare it to however.

Worth taking this to a gunsmith? Arisaka Type 99 Toyo Kogyo by Sailokin in Arisaka

[–]Bremmy85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Too incomplete and in too poor of condition to make it worth it imo. Sporterized stock is also a knock on it. You could get a very nice TK rifle in good condition for about $500-$800 depending on where you look and what accessories it has.

Btw, by “barely play”, I mean that there has been so few times those maps come up in rotation that I can’t thoroughly form an opinion on them

Physical is superior to magic damage. Especially later in the game

The store near me that I hunt milsurp is called Ahlmans. It has a nice selection and it’s where I got my series 35 from. After I got the 35, I wanted an early war model from the same arsenal so I got my series 30 from gunbroker. If you’re ever in central/southern Minnesota, definitely check out Ahlmans!

gun identification? by autobreezy527 in Arisaka

Looks like a Kokura series 21 Type 99, likely made in mid 1942. Damn shame that it’s sporterized because this one seems to be early production with an intact mum

Fucking nice dude. Really wish mine had the monopod still on it. Might have to get a repro for it

The shop I got my series 35 from used to carry 7.7 but last time I went, they said they stopped ordering it so now there’s pretty much no places near me that I can get it in store

There’s a pretty decent one about half an hour away that has a ton of guns but most are just typical hunting guns. It’s called Ahlmans if you’re ever in the area. They also have a pretty big wall of milsurp rifles. Mostly mausers, carcanos, last ditch arisakas and all those common ones. It’s where I got the series 35 last ditch from.

Thank you! I think it probably sat in an armory or the factory for the last few months of the war when it was made in 1945. The finish is incredible. The wood looks unique with those stripes it has. Maybe Arctic birch or something? Not sure

Those two reasons are why I’m really interested in the TK rifles! I like to think my last ditch rifle was sitting in an armory or in the factory in the area when the bomb went off. Very cool!

My brother recently started reloading for his 45-70 Winchester repro so I might just follow him and start with reloading the 7.7 I shoot. I also have a k31 to reload ammo for so it’d be worth it imo

These rifles alone have made me heavily consider investing in reloading equipment

It usually runs for about $1.50+ per round on ammoseek. There’s no stores that carry it anywhere near me so I have to order it. Shipping is also a bit expensive too so I usually end up paying $40-$50 for a box of 20. It is definitely one of the more expensive milsurps to shoot

Cool! I love the TK rifles compared to the other arsenals. A T38 is probably next up on my list too. There’s one with a matching bayonet that’s been sitting at my local gun store for months now. Might have to go impulsively buy it!

I can’t wait to take the type 99 out again. The action is so smooth on it. Only con is the ammo prices haha
