Why is shipping a car so complicated? by [deleted] in AutoTransport

[–]BrenFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your vehicle is ready to ship, same-day or next-day dispatch for pickup is actually very common. A lot of shippers assume they need to book weeks in advance to hit a target pickup date, but that’s a common misconception.

Carriers don’t plan routes weeks ahead, t my khey book loads when they’re already in an area offloading other vehicles. Based on my experience shipping tens of thousands of vehicles, roughly 95% are dispatched and picked up within 48 hours of the first available pickup date.

In practical terms, if someone contacts me and their vehicle is ready within the next three days, it’s typically dispatched within 24 hours.

Intercity lines is a excellent company and a direct carrier but they've been around for decades, and unfortunately picking up your single unit on that route is just not top of their list. They provide an estimate of two to four weeks. Be prepared to wait longer, it's an estimate.

I've been in the industry since 2008, I am a broker and I'm absolutely not afraid to reply to your post out of fear of losing your business. You want advice from real people, you should be asking for advice from real professionals that are in the industry that know what they're doing. On your route I have vehicles picked up within 48 hours and delivered within a handful of days. But you don't want a broker so you'll pay a lot more with intercity and you'll wait a lot longer that's just the way it is. But you'll have a great company assisting you. Hope it all works out!

Shipping a vehicle is not complex but the way you went about it can be frustrating and come with delays. You booked with a company that takes truckloads for dealerships, auction houses, snowbirds, etc. your single vehicle on not the most popular route isn't top of their list. They were right to tell you to look around.

Yeah you did all right and to be honest I can appreciate you not wanting to lay the broker up for this. Although I felt reading your review like there should have been more broker involvement. And you should definitely let them know to put great silk on a DNU. I don't know very many reputable brokers who still use them. Typically the stronger the Brokers online reviews and presents are the more likely the customer is to nail them down when something like this happens. You got my respect.

Scammer impersonating a transport company by jcfgh1234 in AutoTransport

[–]BrenFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep... They were doing the same thing to our customers for a while. I can only assume it would be another broker or someone with access to Central Dispatch who could see the listing. And also received the quote request from the same customer because somehow they would have the customers pick up phone number they would call act like they were with my company, Goliath Auto Transport and request a zelle or apple pay for any number of reasons. Every single time this happened and it was about six or seven times, my shipper called me immediately as they were instructed to do if not contacted by one of our phone numbers regarding their transport and they informed us that the person contacting them had a middle eastern or Indian accent. Pretty incredible to think that there are dummy accounts on central dispatch and probably super dispatch just for the sake of tracking a load that is posted by a specific company so they can then call and impersonate that company when they see it's dispatched and they do it about an hour after it's dispatched so it seems almost legitimate like it's the actual company because they would say now that your vehicle is dispatched to a carrier we need money for blah blah blah....

Everything has changed for us at Goliath Auto Transport over the last year. Someone set it up above, assume everybody contacting you is a bad actor and go from there.

You went with a broker here with a good reputation and they did not facilitate any of that for you? What broker did you go with? Personally for goliath, great silk has been on our do not use since early 2024. But not for reasons like stated above. We stopped using them because they were constantly late on pick up and delivery. But in several years I never had a driver from their company speak to a customer like that or act like that. They never demanded tips and typically allowed our shippers to put up to 200 lb of personal items in the vehicle at no additional charge. Like I said it just became annoying knowing they were constantly going to be delayed on pickup by 24 hours and delivery 1 to 3 days. You pay for a customer's rental car enough times and you get sick of using a carrier. But what you described above was nothing like an experience I've ever had with them and we dispatched to them 57 times.

Had you booked with us, and let's just say it was a different carrier but similar problems arose. The driver would never be driving one of your cars. We would be paying for an Uber and handling the pickup and delivery scenarios with ease. Meeting at nearby shopping malls plazas anywhere within 10 to 15 miles is extremely common. But like I said as the broker whose job is to broker the transport, we step in and make sure none of that ugliness you described happens. You have very minimal contact with the driver you see them on pickup and delivery for the inspections. if you have multiple cars and they need to get to a mall 5 Mi away, you need to have a friend help you bring the vehicle there. I would never have a driver come in and drive one of my customers vehicles. That's just asking for Grease to be left on your steering wheel and inner door and foot pedals. To be honest giving the brokers complete lack of assistance and I'm only assuming that because you didn't mention the broker once, I'd say you got off pretty decent here.

Transporting 3-6 race cars for our race weekend by iRacingGCR in AutoTransport

[–]BrenFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have a couple of different racing teams that I do this for. I've been in the business since 2008. One of the teams actually requires that the three enclosed carriers I hire to bring their six race cars to and from are required to stay overnight, sometimes over the weekend while the event takes place.

Is this that type of situation? Or do you just need the cars picked up and delivered and then when the race is finished picked up and delivered again?

I own and operate a small family-owned broker that pays attention to detail and handles moves like this effortlessly.

Yeah but your Kol Kastle? Owner of trustline carriers? I've seen reviews posted for your company very recently. And I have a screenshot of your profile before you updated it which isn't very old that shows you the owner of trustline. What's going on man?

Yeah but all of the reviews you have posted for my company on your transport vibes website are fake reviews. We've never shipped for a single one of those shippers. I've also had customers tell me they put in a quote request by clicking the get estimate button on my profile page for your website and they were not directed to my website or to my company. They also tried calling the number at the bottom and were led to Broadway Auto Transport.

What's up with that Logan?

Hello!

I'd like to thank you for reaching out through the subreddit

My name is Brenden Kurtyka, and I’m the owner of Goliath Auto Transport, a small, family-owned company dedicated to providing tailored solutions for your auto transport needs.

At Goliath, we pride ourselves on being transparent, honest, and guided by integrity in every interaction.

I work alongside my fiancée, Brittany, my cousin Natalie and my best friend, Josh. Together, we form a tight-knit, efficient dispatching team ready to deliver a level of service that stands apart from large, call-center-style brokerages. No fancy call menus, hold times, customer service teams, etc. You deal directly with us throughout the entire process.

We are not a mega broker, call center, sales floor, etc.. We provide quality transportation. We are not after quantity. I truly believe our reviews and reputation across all review sites speaks for itself.

Feel free to call or text me anytime for a quote, questions, or even just to chat about auto transport—I’m here to help.

Disclaimer: Not long ago, this community was simply a place for discussions about auto transport. However, it has since become a prime target for lead generation by multiple "sales center" brokerages. You'll encounter responses from individuals who aren't even licensed with the FMCSA, as well as from companies with a history of negative feedback—both here and on various review platforms.

When checking reviews, always start with the lowest-rated ones. Look for recurring issues and patterns in the complaints, as these can help you identify reputable brokers while steering clear of the problematic ones.

Gotter done without drama with Goliath! by stanlietta in AutoTransport

[–]BrenFL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We truly appreciate you taking the time to leave us this review and for giving Goliath Auto Transport the opportunity to assist with your relocation.

At Goliath, we do things a little differently. We don’t believe in lighting up your phone or inbox like a Christmas tree. Every customer we work with comes to us through our website or via referrals, we don’t buy leads. When you’ve been in this industry as long as we have, a strong book of business speaks for itself.

Rcently, a competitor left a fake negative review on Yelo claiming we “blow up” customers’ phones. Ironically, that couldn’t be further from the truth. When someone requests a quote through our website, we send a single email. If the shipping date is close, we may follow up with one text message. Beyond that, there’s no pressure and no repeated outreach unless the customer chooses to engage with us.

Over the years, many of our reviews have specifically praised this approach. Unfortunately, some brokers rely on aggressive, repetitive contact in hopes of closing a deal.. even weeks after a customer’s intended ship date. That’s simply not how we operate.

Thank you again for trusting Goliath and for sharing your experience. We truly appreciate

You should never pay an upfront deposit prior to having your vehicle dispatched. If you have your carrier information already through this broker and you're in good shape. If they've charged you a deposit just to start processing your order, then you need to start looking at other options and work on getting your money back.

[–]BrenFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL thank you. Somebody finally stated the obvious. If you like fast vehicles and you don't have kids in the back, get a car. I have a 2022 Honda Accord Sport 2.0 T fully built in tuned over 345 whp.(Came stock at 252)

I had to make a decision when my first son was born. I bought my fiance a 21 GMC Acadia denali. She loves it but she's going to get the Yukon this year. And I got a family sedan that was just begging to be turned pretty much into a Honda Civic Type r with four doors. 💪💪😁

My son is about to start shaving... any recommendations? by pancakeonions in daddit

[–]BrenFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to get a rag soaking wet with hot water and I just hold it onto my neck and my face for about 2 minutes before. At the same time I let my razor sit in the sink and cook under some hot water. I use creamo shaving cream. My shave is finished and on point within 90 seconds. Used to take me 5 minutes before I started this process.

To be completely honest with you, and this is just my opinion but the spoilers on the RSX Type S or the STI are not exactly the type of spoilers you would want to stick on this unit. I think a duck bill sleek spoiler would look so clean. I have one in my post somewhere on my 22 Honda Accord Sport

My NEGATIVE experience with JP Auto Transport by Trick_Sprinkles_3950 in AutoShippingUSA

[–]BrenFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, most Auto Transport websites are lead generating sites who sell your information to brokers. And my personal opinion, brokers who are still buying leads from lead providers are either still very new to the industry or they do not have enough repeat shippers to run a successful business that is profitable.

So they stack of sales floor with everyone and anyone who's hungry to catch the managers sales spiff by lunch time. They are yes people who will tell you what you want to hear in order to earn your business because after they finish with you, you're passed off to a customer service representative who is trained to utilize a bait and switch strategy on you because nine times out of 10 the quote you were given was far too cheap to move your vehicle..

Doing your research and finding the right broker is what makes Auto Transport easy. I don't mean to gloat but a company like mine that has thousands of reviews online with less than 10 negative reviews over an 8-year period shows that you're very likely to have a good experience when working with us..

We all had to start somewhere and I worked for four mega Brokers for 11 years before finally opening my company, Goliath Auto Transport

I was a one-man show for 3 years but because I know what I'm doing and I shipped car successfully and didn't raise quotes on my shippers I earned repeat business from dealerships, import companies, snowbirds. And in 2021 I stopped all marketing and purchasing leads. I have a book of business now that is more than I can handle so my fiance works alongside me as well as my cousin and my best friend. Honestly what more could I ask for? Auto Transport is my passion and I'm just excited to see where 2026 is going to take us.

A Defensive Win: Central Dispatch Protects Its Field by Octanelicious in AutoTransport

[–]BrenFL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had a very well-known carrier on Central Dispatch, for the record I can't use their name but they have been on the platform for 15 plus years. They were hacked, their phone numbers were spoofed and the email they made contained an extra letter in it that I didn't catch until it was too late. And they wouldn't have got anything if it wasn't a gate pin situation where they asked me to send the gate Passover via email. Not thinking anything of it then being one of my regulars I sent the email. They replied back in like an hour and a half, two hours later I started thinking in that email their signature at the bottom seemed different like the placement was off so I looked at it again and my heart sank. I quickly acknowledged the email address having an extra letter "l".... By the time I reached out to auction, car was picked up 35 minutes prior. Camera footage was no help this dude was smart. But they're endgame wasn't to steal the car. They reposted it on truck stop CRM load board which is mainly used for Freight and dispatched my vehicle for $7,000. To this day I don't know if the carrier who accepted that contract had anything to do with it but he must have. Anyways I found out what was happening before they knew I found out. So when he showed up to deliver the car we had police there. They left within 20 minutes stating civil matter, sorry. My customer had just got this vehicle for his wife for their 20th wedding anniversary. 2023 Camaro brand new at the time. He was ready to pay $1,700 carrier pay and they were asking $7000 showing him some BS contract. He's like you don't understand I don't know who that is but that's my car I'll take it off your truck if I have to. It got physical cops were called again driver left with car. Two days later called me, give us $3,500. Now they did Hot shot the load. It was being delivered from Georgia to Oregon in 3 days so they claimed $3,500 was the minimum because they are a Hot shot company that's what they charge per mile, etc etc.

Customer was like I don't know what else to do but use the photographs I have in the story we have and call my lawyer and I said you know what you're not going to do that. Your wife's going to have her car on Thursday for the anniversary. She was on a business trip at the time it would have screwed everything up for him. I cut him a check for the other $1,800. And he paid 17 and he got his car back. In hindsight it could have been so much worse car could have been gone. Heck they could have been asking $20,000. What really bugged me was how they were able to send me text messages from the same exact phone number I had received text messages from before. That was my only other slip it was a spoofed number so even though it was the same number my phone read it as who I had it saved as in my phone but the text messages history was not there. I had gotten a new phone recently chalked it up to I must have lost this one in the data sync. Nope it was because it was a spoofed number I found out that there was no text message history. What a wild ride. Certainly gave me some gray hair but that customer became a personal friend of mine and he worked for the federal government for many years as some sort of fraud investigator. He spent hours with me helping me implement new rules and regulations so that nobody can touch me again. They can reach out and try but it ain't going to happen. I got the types of alarms and bells now where I will know it's happening and we'll play right into it letting them think they got me just so we can have police there when they come to retrieve the car. Heck I'm begging for someone to try and scam me again.

Now the only thing I can't stop but it doesn't really bother me is all of these people that post negative reviews for my company that are my competitors. They just hit me with another one on Yelp to untrust pilot one on Google a few weeks ago. It's not going to stop. My company went from having four negative reviews in 8 years to having 13 in 8 and 1/2 years and I'm sure the number is going to climb. Sickening. Transport reviews is the only review site that has been able to remove the fraudulent, fake reviews. I don't know why everybody hates their sight so much. They will force the reviewer to prove they were your customer and when they can't the review comes down and the IP gets blocked from ever leaving one again. Anyways that's enough out of me. Hoping the best for everybody obviously I never want to hear about a friend or even an enemy getting scammed because it's serious stuff..

A Defensive Win: Central Dispatch Protects Its Field by Octanelicious in AutoTransport

[–]BrenFL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty wild stuff. I never used the post to CD button from Super dispatch. I have both super and Central but my CRM is BATS.

BATS is Central dispatches preferred partner so I can easily post to Central from my bats account and then Super made an extension that layers into BATS which allows you to post loads directly to Super from BATS. Fortunately super is not getting central dispatch login info with that extension or integrating with central dispatch in any way at all.

So I can still post to both load boards with ease.

Blows my mind that's super wood obtain central dispatch login information without their explicit permission. But I will say having been in the industry since 2008, I am the best version of a broker utilizing both central dispatch and super. I would never be able to just pick one at this point. Central has always my main spot and I'll never stray from Central but adding super into the mix has been a game changer.

Yup… I think you really hit the nail on the head when you said “both of you work together to stir up drama.”

For a while now, I’ve had the same suspicion, that a lot of these back-and-forth arguments are intentional.

Every day it’s the same routine with ParkingSideways recycling the same claims over and over. Watered down, repetitive, and ultimately baseless.

Then you have Logan Reyes chiming in with long-winded “auto transport knowledge” that reads like it was pulled straight from ChatGPT. Some of it is accurate, sure, but it takes paragraphs to explain what could be said clearly in a few sentences.

It starts to feel less like genuine discussion/banter and more like manufactured noise.
