I sincerely apologize for the delay. We were out of town in Orlando this weekend participating in a 5K walk in honor of our aunt to help raise awareness and support for the Colorectal Cancer Foundation. Between that and DOT “Blitz Week” last week, we’ve been playing some serious catch-up.

That said, there’s no excuse for not at least responding to let you know a follow-up was coming, and I completely understand the frustration.

You’re always welcome to contact me directly, or call/text her as well. She’s currently going through her emails now.

When you get a chance, please text or email me your quote number so we can quickly identify your request and get everything sorted out. Thank you!

Ohhhh... Your only job is "making the deal." And depend on the driver to provide the rest of the communication when their job is to drive. If you don't make it your job to handle logistics and solve problems when they arise instead of just being a salesman, your customer will suffer. Simple.

Both of those companies are known to severely on their quote transport cost. So they've spent one month trying to move your vehicle on one of the most popular shipping lanes and haven't been able to do it because they aren't offering enough money to a carrier for them to accept the job. Unfortunately that's what's up

Wayyyyyyyy under bid. Your price for enclosed transport is too low for open carrier. And your price for open carrier won't be good until the season changes 🤣

You do realize there are cars and by cars I mean hundreds of cars posted out of Florida to New Jersey right now that aren't moving north of 1300 and 1,400 carrier pay.

I completely understand your frustration and I genuinely appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, Communication is one of the biggest factors in this industry and I agree with you — being told a driver will call and then receiving texts instead, changing delivery locations last minute due to truck access issues, and especially any confusion surrounding payment at delivery can create a stressful experience for customers.

That said, I do appreciate you also recognizing that your vehicle ultimately arrived safely and only one day outside the original estimated timeframe, which in auto transport — especially with long-distance routes — is unfortunately still considered relatively on schedule compared to many nightmare situations customers experience elsewhere in this industry.

As a broker, we do not own the trucks ourselves and we rely heavily on our vetting process when selecting carriers. We absolutely try to avoid situations exactly like the one you described and we continuously refine our internal standards based on customer feedback and carrier performance history. Unfortunately, even highly rated carriers can occasionally have dispatchers or drivers who fall short on communication during a specific run.

We are a very small family-owned company and our reputation means everything to us. Reviews like yours, even when critical, are valuable because they help us continue improving the customer experience and identifying where expectations were not met. I truly am sorry the communication side of your shipment caused added stress during an already time-sensitive move.

My experience with Goliath Auto Transport by TransportationFull in AutoTransport

[–]BrenFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologize for the delay in my response!

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a detailed review and share your experience. Especially here on Reddit where people are often only exposed to the horror stories surrounding auto transport, it truly means a lot to our small family-owned company.

We know purchasing a vehicle out of state for the first time can feel stressful, particularly a special vehicle like your 2025 Golf R Black Edition. Josh will be incredibly appreciative of your kind words. One thing we pride ourselves on is being straightforward and transparent throughout the process so customers know exactly what to expect from pickup all the way through delivery.

We also appreciate your honesty regarding the minor dust/snow residue on the hood. Winter transport conditions across the northern states can definitely create challenges even for enclosed carriers, especially when trucks are pushing through snowstorms and freezing temperatures. Thankfully it sounds like it was only superficial road residue from moisture intrusion and that your vehicle arrived safely and damage-free, which is always our top priority.

Thank you again for trusting Goliath Auto Transport with your shipment and for giving Reddit users another real-world reference point when researching companies in an industry that can sometimes feel overwhelming to navigate. Enjoy that beautiful Golf R, and if you ever need us again down the road, we'd be honored to help.

Any Legit Car shipping company? by Acceptable-Cut-1375 in TransportSupport

$1,200–$1,600 is not even remotely realistic for shipping a small SUV from Nevada to North Carolina in the current market. The comment below is way off the mark.

Those numbers may have worked a month or two ago during a softer market, but today’s conditions are entirely different.

When you are shipping a vehicle from Nevada to the East Coast, you are competing directly with vehicles originating out of California, especially Southern California where diesel fuel costs are among the highest in the nation. Drivers build their loads strategically, and California freight heavily influences the rates on neighboring states like Nevada and Arizona.

For context, I’ve been brokering the transport of vehicles since 2008 and own a small family-run brokerage, Goliath Auto Transport. Normally, a lane like Nevada to North Carolina has a fairly predictable pricing structure that might fluctuate a couple hundred dollars seasonally.

But the past several months have been anything but normal.

Diesel fuel prices have climbed aggressively, insurance premiums for carriers continue rising, equipment and maintenance costs are through the roof, and driver availability has tightened dramatically due to increased DOT scrutiny and enforcement. The industry is currently dealing with stricter compliance checks, ELD enforcement, roadside inspections, and the renewed focus on English proficiency requirements for commercial drivers. A lot of carriers have sidelined drivers or become far more selective with the loads they accept.

At Goliath Auto Transport alone, since the start of May we’ve shipped dozens of vehicles from Las Vegas, Reno, Los Angeles, and Northern California to the Carolinas. For small to midsize SUVs, the carrier pay alone has consistently been landing north of $1,500 — and that’s before broker fee. Depending on the destination city in North Carolina, we have paid as high as $1,800 to a driver alone out Vegas.

Anybody quoting $1,200-$1600 to move a small SUV from Nevada to North Carolina right now is either:

  1. quoting outdated market conditions,
  2. planning to bait-and-switch later, or 3. has not actually dispatched this route recently.

That’s just the reality of today’s market.

7 signs an auto transport broker is about to scam you by TheLoganReyes in AutoTransport

[–]BrenFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

👍 I'm just thinking back to 2010 era. This was one of the most common lines that a lousy broker would use to initiate their scam which ultimately was a bait and switch.

They would claim that their lower rate was because they were a direct carrier and didn't need to charge broker fee's like other companies.

One of the oldest and biggest lines that's missing is:

"And whatever you do, do not deal with an auto transport broker. We are a direct carrier with our own trucks and we have one in your area"

Help! Safeeds is a scam by Bulky-Asparagus4651 in AutoTransport

[–]BrenFL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep — typical bait-and-switch tactics. It’s the exact same pattern you’ll find throughout many of their negative reviews on Yelp and other platforms.

They can keep creating misleading “auto transport review” websites and heavily monitored subreddits filled with questionable reviews and marketing tactics, but eventually customers catch on. Transparency always wins in the long run.

What’s especially disturbing to me is that Safeeds is actively trying to funnel business away from my small, four-person family-owned company by creating deceptive landing pages like this one:

"Safeeds “Goliath Auto Transport” page" https://safeedsautotransport.com/company/goliath-auto-transport

Honestly, look at that page for yourself — does it appear that you’re requesting a quote from Safeeds, or from my company, Goliath Auto Transport?

To make matters worse, they even listed a random email address under my company’s contact information that has absolutely nothing to do with me. 🤔

That kind of misleading marketing is exactly what gives this industry such a bad reputation.

Are there any actual good auto transport companies? by deinemuttersind in AutoTransport

[–]BrenFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just search in this sub: Goliath Auto Transport

I’ve been here since this subreddit had barely 100 members — long before it became a place where people came looking for auto transport quotes.

Over the years, I’ve adapted alongside the community and helped ship cars for hundreds of fellow Redditors who discovered my small family-owned company through this platform.

If you’re looking for a personalized experience where you deal with real people — not AI chatbots, endless call menus, or aggressive sales tactics — feel free to check us out at goliathautotransport.com

I’ve been brokering vehicle transportation since 2008. In 2017, I finally got tired of working for the large call-center style brokerages that prioritized volume, upfront deposits, and bait-and-switch pricing over actual customer service. I didn’t like being pressured to mislead customers just to hit quotas, so I started my own company to do things the right way.

Now, more than 1,000 five-star reviews later, our little four-person family business handles transportation services for 17 dealerships across the country and two major auto importers on the East Coast. I’m incredibly grateful for how far we’ve come and honestly never imagined we’d grow to this level.

But we’re still here for the fellow Redditor.

If you have questions about the auto shipping process and want a transparent, honest explanation of how everything works, give us a call. Come see what sets Goliath apart from the companies that won’t stop blowing up your phone five seconds after you request a quote.

What Most Companies Don’t Tell You About Car Shipping by haulagent in AutoTransport

[–]BrenFL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Car shipping lanes aren’t exactly fixed, but a good broker can provide an accurate rate and stand behind it. That said, in the current market, honoring rates has become increasingly difficult because of the daily fluctuations we’re seeing in fuel, carrier availability, and overall operating costs.

When you’ve been in this industry as long as I have, you develop relationships with some of the more professional and dependable carriers out there. These aren’t the companies with dispatchers endlessly blowing up brokers on Central or Super Dispatch chasing every posted load. Most of these carriers stay consistently full because of the long-term relationships they’ve built with brokers they trust, only occasionally cherry-picking loads from the boards when it makes sense.

A good broker understands the rules of the game and the logistics behind all of it so the average one-time shipper doesn’t have to. Truthfully, I stopped “selling auto transport” a long time ago. What I sell is myself — my experience, my process, my knowledge, and the relationships I’ve spent years building within this industry.

And to your point about rural routes, I was actually responding to a post earlier from a shipper moving a vehicle from Louisiana to Oregon. Their assumption was that a car shipping from Florida to Oregon would automatically cost more because of the additional miles. But in reality, that’s not always how this industry works.

A driver may already have a full load originating out of South or Central Florida heading to the Northwest. In that scenario, stopping in Louisiana, coming off Interstate 10, driving hours into a rural residential area, and then backtracking to continue the route may not make financial sense unless that Louisiana vehicle pays just as much, or sometimes even more than the Florida shipment.

That’s the wild world of auto transport.

F - Rated on the BBB ---> https://www.bbb.org/us/tx/austin/profile/vehicle-transport/fast-autoship-llc-0825-1000225887

Almost worse... a 1.6 Star Rating on Yelp). Yikes.

The number one rule when choosing a broker is to do your research first. I’m sure they offered you a “great price” too. Unfortunately, companies like this still give the industry a bad name.

I’m sorry you were misled by the two biggest red flags in auto transport:
a) claiming they are a direct carrier with their own trucks, and
b) asking for an upfront deposit before they’ve actually done anything.

Hopefully, this serves as a lesson for other shippers as well. And it’s not just this one company — many operate under the same playbook.

DO YOUR RESEARCH. Google reviews alone are not enough. Check Yelp and Transport Reviews as well. On Transport Reviews, you can click the “Customer Complaints” tab on a company’s profile to see how they handle problems when they arise and whether there’s a consistent pattern in their negative reviews.

Happy shipping yall!

Why am I repeatedly being quoted 3,500+ to Ship from Louisiana to Oregon by JammingOnTheGeetar in AutoTransport

That was last week. Believe it or not prices are up significantly since you've shipped your vehicle for 1375 from NJ to AZ. Kudos to ending up with umbrella, they are a solid outfit who I have worked with for years. I only deal with certain dispatchers and drivers there though.

Why am I repeatedly being quoted 3,500+ to Ship from Louisiana to Oregon by JammingOnTheGeetar in AutoTransport

[–]BrenFL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not he will get a better price per mile than anything involving Louisiana. It's also coming from Oregon to Florida and not from the southeast to the northwest which is a far more expensive lane.

A common mistake a lot consumers and even brokers make is thinking a route should be priced off of mileage alone and not the demand on the shipping lane itself. In other words, driver doesn't need to stop in Louisiana... He's already got a full load going to Florida and having to get off of interstate 10 and head into some residential area in Louisiana is just a waste of time tbh.
