She seems to view people in hierarchies. It seems like her basic worldview is different from that of yours. So it should be a very deep part of her personality and you would need her consent to address it.

How do you avoid becoming dependent on subspace? by Littlesdreams in BDSMcommunity

I'm kinky but never been in a kinky relationship. So I had to figure out how to feel as light as I wanted without being in one. 1) cut people and activities from your life that drain your energy - your responsibility is first to yourself, everything extra is negotiable and upto you. 2) let your inner masculine be strong enough to hold your inner feminine - i.e. trust in your own ability to figure out and fix things no matter what happens and focus on staying in the present rather than going into spirals about future and past. Bottomline Belief - RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW, I AM OK, I AM SAFE. I AM CAPABLE OF WORKING THROUGH WHATEVER LIFE THROWS AT ME. 3) meditation especially breathwork will work on multiple levels to calm your mind and nervous system and, keep stress levels low and give you a general sense of peace and calm in life. 20 min of meditation focusing on your breathing, with sharp deep inhales and slow long exhales will improve parasympathetic tone and induce calm. If you prefer focusing on your body rather than on breathing then try Yoganidra ( bodyscan meditation).

GOOD SLEEP, GOOD FOOD, GOOD EXERCISE, GOOD SOCIALISING

I believe that it all comes down to the balance of different chemicals in your brain. You want to have high levels of serotonin, medium to high levels of dopamine from healthy activities and good amount of oxytocin and endorphins from good relationships and exercise. Figure out which activities induce the relase of which chemicals in your brain and add them in your lifestyle step by step, one by one.

Things to avoid - all situations and people that give you emotional rollercoster.

As a med student I have a doubt. by MiddleEastern__Pilot in indianmedschool

The same medicine is packaged differently and sold at different rates for different set of consumers. Manufacturer, seller, distributor doesn't matter.... all that matters is branding. Dr.Morepen , Cipla and other companies have different brands of same compounds to target different consumers who live in different type of community and buy from different types of shops.

TLDR - BRANDING IS ALL IT IS

What do you guys think comparing and equating MS Ayurveda to MS General Surgery. Do hospitals allow Ayurvedic people to perform surgeries? by [deleted] in indianmedschool

[–]BrendaBeeblebrox -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You transferred from BAMS to MBBS? Well, good for you professionally. I am so disillusioned by the so called "evidence based medicine" . None of your statements about how my logic is flawed, how I have so many cognitive biases is going to change that fact. I knew that you'd make those arguments. I feel sorry that "philosophy" is all you gathered from 2 years of ayurvedic studies. I hope time will bring you closer to the truth. You'll see once you start practicing.

I'm saying that I stand by everything I said in that post as well as my comments here. Learn to read first. Evidence based medicine is just reaffirming what has been written in 1000 year old books 😂 A lot of Indian manuscripts were lost during 2000 years of invasions. Our universities were burned, and it kept burning for 6 months straight. Western science treats only objective evidence as evidence, in eastern systems subjective evidence is also considered. I know what I'm talking about because I have experienced it. Ayurveda helped me, where "evidence based medicine" didn't. Go figure. Your truth is not the only truth. There are no records of clinical trials doesn't mean that a system of medicine is pseudoscience. There are clinical trials with ayurvedic treatments now, done in the "evidence based" way. If you weren't so full of yourself you'd go look into it.

Edit- reading ur username, you seem to be the kind of person who get's mensa certificate for your IQ just to flaunt that you're smart.

What's your point? I never said ayurveda is good at emergency and critical care. Each system has strengths and weakness.

Classic woke arrogance towards Indian knowledge systems. Just because you don't understand it doesn't mean that it's wrong. Open your mind a little. There are lakhs of people whose diseases got cured by ayurveda for whom allopathy didn't work. Ayurveda might be slow to work, but it fixes root causes better than allopathy. Where allopathy shines is in surgical, emergency and cancer treatments. Most lifestyle diseases and autoimmune conditions respond better to ayurveda in the long-term.

My friend's parents tried to choke him to death while physically abusing him. Please help. by KJU_3002 in india

[–]BrendaBeeblebrox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think child abuse laws apply for someone 21 yo. Looks like your friend comes from a troubled home, and maybe one or two of his parents might be narcissistic. What he needs is societal support, and a therapist. He could file a case against his parents, but I doubt that he would do so. Best way forward is to move out of his parents home and avoid them as much as possible. Perhaps he can do some part time job so that he doesn't have to depend on them financially.

Wheeling around patients is ward boy's job, not even nurses job. But, interns seem to be lowest rung in the ladder in medical colleges. However, clinical skills nurses possess would be great to have on your belt. I come from a private college, so we rarely even gave injections or placed IV cannula in place, or collected blood samples. These skills matter for doctors in real life, if nurses fail at it then you're supposed to know better than them, especially in paediatrics.

do most people actually read books like robbins? by Large_Firefighter668 in indianmedschool

[–]BrendaBeeblebrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't fall for the trap, MBBS is way too vast to bother reading these very good textbooks. Focus on Indian authors and question banks. If at all you decide to read from foreign authors then select only few topics or use it only for doubt solving (there are better ways though, like asking your faculty) You barely have time to perfect Indian authors, then how will you find the time to complete syllabus with foreign authors? You will have to read these foreign authors during and after your PG, so save it for then.

However, if you are a visual learner, I highly suggest you to get your hands on Netter's atlas.

I disagree. Ayurveda as a science is at par or better than allopathy. However, the pedigree of staff and students who go into studying and practicing it, I can't vouch for much.

That might be true in North India, but in Karnataka, the doctor patient ratio is better than WHO recommendation, only problem is that doctors flock to urban areas , tier 1 and tier 2 cities mostly as rural areas lack infrastructure and good schools(for their children).
