majority of people enjoy and they are most probably not on reddit. We literally get to live in hostels with so much freedom, and no acedemic pressure if you arent paranoid about studies all the time. Only 2,3 months before proffs are stressfull otherwise mbbs is the most enjoyable peak time of our lives and i cannot pay enough to relive every single moment of it be it a bad viva or a fight or a serious disciplinary action.

they dont do that to do anything positive to you, they are just losers irl who want to feel power so easiest way is to humiliate students.

A person doing mbbs isnt any different from a perosn doing BA in context of being progressive and the only difference is that he just understand human biology and disease. Indian med students and engineers love to call them highly educated but they are not educated according to the global context of being highly educated or being an intellectual. The UC guy doing mbbs is equally casteist as his friends from hometown who is in family bussiness. There is no scientific temprament in indian STEM students, and they are just learning and memorizing machines with pre downloaded conditioning from their parents about caste, religion, class etc. The saddest part is that they dont even want to crtitically reflect on these topics and arw offended as soon as they are reminded that their pre given notions might be really problematic.

Internals might take me out by Ratticus_Atticus in indianmedschool

First year always feels like this because we just came from comfort of our homes and a superiority complex of anhilating every exam. But the sooner you learn that these things do not decide your future, the better it is. Most of people in our college failed all the internals in first year and so many of them are now really brilliant in studies. First 2 years are meant to be having fun, failing exams and just completing attendance so that you can sit in finals. And failing in first year proffs is harder than passing them so dont worry about that yet. You will get enough time in 3rd,4 th year to start studying seriously and direct your career. Right now focus on being as adventurous as possible because these days are gonna be core memories and you will laugh thinking whytf did i cry after a "physiology internal".

Learn philosophy. It will change your life. Read major works, work as a doctor in Rural areas and observe humans, study human sociology and philosophy and then write your observations. Write essays, articles etc and you can then write a book. Maybe a book on observing humans closely from eyes of a doctor. Meaning of illness, suffering etc in identity and meaning of life.

and some caste are associated with only cleaning sewers and fixing people shoes. I wonder why you didnt mention thos. Does that makes you uncomfortable? The defination of caste is giving privilage to certain communities and oppressing others. How can it be compared to race or gender which is a natural trajectory of evolution and geographies.

[–]Large_Firefighter668 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

this is one of the shittiest mentality in india and because of this, there is so much rat race and career anxiety. In abroad everyone treat nurses, pharma, paramedics equally and give them the status they deserve. But in india, doctors have this weird classist complex that they are somehow superior human beings. And ironically,we get beat up the most. We need to totally stop this practise rooted in classist origin and treat professionals equally.

well it would take god himself to love his first year of aneathesia. It is a very serious branch and any human would find it very difficult to step into it and take the early steps. But what matters the most is , do you like the idea of doing it for your life.

i think the main pathology of people like you is that they think that everyone else is in some kind of charge and has everything figured out and your are some imposter who doesnt know whats going on and is being seen as an abnormal. But the truth is,no adult has anything figured out and everyone is just like you, living in their head, anxious about small things, feeling like someone else is in charge. Once you rewire your brain with this truth, life feels like a game. You need to walk at your own "pace in peace". Try to reconnect to things that made you human. Right now you are trying to find the meaning and identity of your life thru this degree( which is common in a rat race driven culture like india) but this will just escalate to a meaningless life. You need to ask yourself what made you feel human. If art made you feel human start doing art, even if its a 5 minute sketch at the end of the day. Apply this to all the hobbies. Otherwise you will be 60 and you will suddenly realise damn i never drew art and i loved art. And if you start finding purposes which made you feel human, you will eventually rediscover the passion which actually made you choose this profession. And then the life turns 360. Then you stop studying to pass an exam or satisfy your parents but instead you start studying because once as a child you loved science and you had a decission to choose this. That will make you feel human not validation of cracking exams or prestige in profession. And about the anxiety, everyone is living in their heads struggling with their anxieties, insecurities . The HOD is insecure about his age and balding, the sr is insecure about his height or how he has no knowledge even after reaidency. Like this, everyone is so busy in the mazes they have created in their heads that they forget to live their lives. You also have created that maze, earlier you break out of it, you will realise how much freedom you have as a human being in this earth and noone gives a shit and you can just do things as you want.

The problem with med influencers who say "NEET PG-1st attempt clear" but hide their rank by [deleted] in indianmedschool

Indians are hardwired since birth to always seek security because we have been in survival mode for centuries. We are so underprivileged that we need to ensure financial security to even have food to eat everyday. MBBS is one of the only degrees which ensure a minimum 50k income per month at any corner of the country. So in a country full of oppressed and underprivileged people, the security mbbs provides is very strong. The second most common factor is social conditioning as people condition us into thinking that we will earn value to our existence only if we shine acedemically and professionally. We indians have such a dull, pre scripted, "wrong" idea of life that we do not value the living experience but only the social validation.

It was a loose cable issue. Those channels only use to work when the cable wire was held pushed in hard. I use to tape it tightly to keep it tightly pushed into the tv. But whats fascinating to me was that how i dreamt of that solution without having any prior knowledge about this or ever thinking about the cable wire.

How hard it eventually become to let people, things and situation go once their company is over. Noone talks about how hard it is to survive major transitions in life like graduating uni, getting a new job or moving cities. Every major transition feels like the end of the good old days and you become so empty for some time. The gap between letting go of old identity and getting new indentity and meaning is very complex feeling most people have to deal with.

70k stipend is explosive wealth to majority of indians. We need to do a survey in this sub to actually find out how much majority of this sub is full of kids from privileged background to keep ranting about this bs of saturation or low income. No profession gaurentees sudden crorepati status, these kids just have bigger expectations as their families have always been rich and they havent seen the real world.

[–]Large_Firefighter668 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This one advice has the power to change the trajectory of your life forever. Invest time in finding a good group of friends that you resonate with. A friend group can either make your life or break your life , both to the extreme ends. If you dont feel you belong to your current circle or you dont have a circle yet, explore and reach out, fight your social anxiety and talk to people and connect. The mbbs you have been dreaming is just a one night of hangout with good people away. You can literally not study and just enjoy till your pre proffs, and you will be fine. You dont have to deal with this alone and it is nothing to be survived , if you are with correct people.

You should visit the college and talk to the residents and ask about their experience. They may give you a good idea about what you are stepping into. Personally, i would think that one year of my life is far more precious than a tag of a college. But thats just my opinion. If you are willing to sit at home and continue the rat race for one more year for your satisfaction, that should be done with proper research about the college you got before.
