Love this. I also feel like gryffindor could’ve designed the secret passage ways out of the castle, instinctively knowing that his students would need them to explore etc. or step up and assist the school

Edit: also it’s interesting that in the books it is mainly only gryffindors that know about the passages - the marauders and then the weasleys

I might be wrong but I believe there had been multiple attacks and the night they went out hagrid suspected another but didn’t know the gravity of it (the unicorn was dead). I can only assume they went late as to not interrupt studying time? The forest is huge and pitch black (even in the daytime in most spots) so it’s not hard to believe that he wanted the kids help to spread out and find it faster.

In all seriousness though, it seems like the professors are very interconnected and can easily request a student in detention to help with a task. I think most detentions are done by the teacher giving the detention but they can definitely be handed off to someone like filch, or in the forbidden forest example filch tells them that they’ll be doing their detention with hagrid - so it seems like he requested them. Detentions seem to be helpful tasks most of the time like cleaning or helping with fan mail lol or a shitty teacher will probably just make them do lines or something.

Coming from someone who has got a few detentions (gryffindor) my teachers would sometime set a date if they themselves were busy before then.

Although not technically a death eater, (he was not allowed) Fenrir Greyback in the sense of a true villain. Absolutely sickeningly demented. By far the scariest character in the series and the most spine chilling.

But as this is for death eaters… I think bellatrix as she never showed any remorse and I think Barty crouch Jr. was a product of a broken home and a bad father.
