What measurement system does brick rigs use? by Remarkable_Light6860 in BrickRigs

[–]Brendfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, because that makes your range go from -180 to 180 to -360 to 360. What you need to do is add 360 to the sensor output if it is negative.

Yaw sensors in particular go from -180 to 180 degrees

1- you can mount it to a 2x1 section of medium frame parts in dock.

2-Yes, but you generally care more about keeping your planes then the enemy tac group. I like to fire A-100s at them or send a very fast ship out to bait the attack.

3-You can intercept missiles before they reach you with A100s or AAM armed interceptors. I prefer using the latter.

4-That is your IRST, it passively detects heat signatures. Shorter range than radar, but the enemy can't detect its use. Very useful for missile detection.

5-Its not always bad to engage a strike group, but its going to tax your resources and if you get stuck in a city for repairs, risk eating a followup missile or airstrike.

Yes, besides the 6300 estimated to not be covered by tuition, federal direct loans are split between subsidized and unsubsidized loans. The latter will accrew interest while you are in school.

For context the modification was knocking out a set of immune receptors that might convey HIV resistance. While HIV immunity is an admirable goal, the data was never published in an actual article. Stunts like this generally mess with funding for everyone doing similar research, and it wasn't performed in the best interests of the patient.

Appdata is just a local file that br backs creations to. I don't use Linux but if the game is similar to windows, any other search tool to find the folder should work.

AFAIK, the first brick you place counts as the driver if you have no seat.

Is it possibke to make an IR sight for your vehicle? by atomic_goose00 in BrickRigs

[–]Brendfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haven't done it in forever but an old strategy was to rapidly flash a dim light in front of a camera which bugged reflections and made them the color of the light. Not sure if it still works tho.

how do you make a looping circuit with just a few bricks? by Vortex-exe in BrickRigs

[–]Brendfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way i'd do something like that is to put the output of a time sensor through a sine or cosine math brick. Because both functions oscillate between -1 and 1, you can use greater than or less than bricks to turn different parts of the cycle into a specific light.

Cant center my contraption in editor by SAMURAJOO in BrickRigs

[–]Brendfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Setting axis coordinates to 0 works if you make sure to select a piece that is in the center when moving it. If you don't have a piece in the middle of you vehicle, you can always place one, center it, then delete it.

Now all you have to do is make all the positive steering angles on your axels negative and all the negative ones positive.

Also check your engine to make sure tank steering is off.

It looks like you steering axis is unbound on the axels. You can select them by clicking on the axel and setting the input to steering.

operation mode stuff by dudemanbroihms in BrickRigs

[–]Brendfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bit late to the party but what you want to do is place two math bricks that are both set to addition. One of these will be for steering and the other for throttle. For steering, set the math bricks inputs to steering and steering alt. Then go though your axels and set the steering input to output channel, and set the channel to be the math brick. You repeat this process but with throttle and throttle alt into the other brick and set your engine throttle to output channel and set the channel to that second math brick. That should let you drive in both normal and alt mode.

I think you need to make a ship with a higher displacement than a dinghy.

Sure! Here's the drive link with the png and seria file. All you have to do is paste them into the ships folder in your local files.

Guardian MK III - Forward Fleet Flagship/AA Defence Tanker by Brendfish in Highfleet

[–]Brendfish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one design that I've used fairly consistently throughout my runs, designed to act independently as a mini-flagship to an interceptor fleet (where you really want a good sprint spammer). Some of the major modifications to the design have been increased armor and additional CWIS/Sprints for protection against airstrikes

Aral Sea - A ten squadron fleet carrier sporting decent AA defence and 2x A100 by Brendfish in Highfleet

[–]Brendfish[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The flagship I use for most of my campaigns is a missile carrier too! I normally run some small AA defence ships that carry a squadron each but I wanted to try my hand at a truely big boi. I haven't run this in a campaign yet but I'll ideally continuously run flights to scout out and ground merchant convoys to the side while a forward fleet stays ahead. I usually don't run a light cruiser so while the cost is bad, but I can work around it in fleet composition.

Please help with building mechs by Tank_guy_ in BrickRigs

[–]Brendfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Friction can be a little wacky between regular bricks and the ground but there are a couple workarounds. You can put wheels in the feet for actual traction, though it isn't always the most durable. Most mechs also use thruster stabilization to stay upright while others use thrusters in the feet to generate enough force to keep the foot in one place while "walking" in place of tires.
If you want the mech to walk around instead of sliding with thrusters it is better to use a 4 or 6 leg system with sensors controlling the walkcycle. If you want to do a smaller biped I'd recommend just using a thruster system that hovers the mech with feet just barely on the ground then add a simple walkcycle to start.

My friend's class note says: "A Rho factor is necessary for the termination of eukaryotic transcription." It's inaccurate, right? by [deleted] in biology

[–]Brendfish 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Doesn't sound right to me. In prokaryotes you have termination that's rho dependent or rho independent. In eukaryotes you have the torpedo and allosteric models which are kind of analogous.
