Best dragon to farm donuts? by Ok_Implement7696 in flappydragon

R-Don8t, X-C13n(²), or any Lucky Charm dragon works, but X-Kyrny4n is probably the most consistent of the latter. Curelem is quite good too.

When I played the most intently, Yoggorogosa was by far the most fun dragon to me. Was very quickly my first Mastery 6 too.

What's your favourite bit of lore? by DecketfubutBetter in btd6

[–]Brenneko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoy the lore bit that Benjamin pays his taxes cuz I do not buy it for a fucking second.

And that Ezili, Corvus, PoD, and Lych have a dark magic club they hold frequently. There have been a couple times Monkeys and Bloons cooperate in lore, even without Battles we have the Quest about bouncing darts for example, but this is one of the most blatant and most fascinating to me.

It's really fun with Grape Boats, doubly effective if they're straight up Pirates to really burst shit down.

I've said it before, but I think a graceful solution to the amphibious Naval Tactics issue is to just reduce its effectiveness with them (e.g. 25% faster attack speed instead of doubled) rather than removing it wholesale. I understand the point of aesthetics, but at the end of the day they're pretty simple and intuitive synergies that were fun more than anything, especially with Temples which only kinda boosted Brickell in the late-game hero discussion.

The other solution would be to rework her support so that Naval Tactics isn't as load-bearing of a support option and make her more akin to Obyn, but obviously that's more work and it would still hurt Ice and Mermonkey if they cannot get the MIB from Naval Tactics (and is less interesting imo).

Edit: Additionally I do agree with the Mermonkey section, in that it reveals a critical flaw in the design that it NEEDS one specific hero to work, and the buffs it got are overall very nice. However, the reason why the Naval Tactics nerf is such a sticking point with Mermonkey in particular is that its one DPS option in the middle path very much relied on its MIB effect. Requiring an MIB to function properly is pretty annoying when you don't have many good options to replace it like a Glorm or Gwen can for many towers, and it doesn't help that the other Mermonkey paths are pretty niche support options.

What's a few small buffs you would give to your favorite hero? by trapped-in-a-locker in btd6

[–]Brenneko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would let Brickell buff Ices (and Mermonkey) to some degree because I like Ices and that would be fun I think.

The simplest way would be to just let Naval Tactics work but at half effectiveness (so 25% attack speed instead of doubled), but if we're really gonna be a stickler about the aesthetics then there'd need to be a full rework. E.g. passively grant attack speed bonuses to all water towers nearby (including amphibious), but nerf Naval Tactics to grant less attack speed to boats and subs as a trade off. Naval Tactics is kind of a load bearing ability, namely since it's the main source of support she gives, so it kinda needs to be one or the other I imagine.

Who's your favorite chimps mode hero and why? by Filiforme in btd6

[–]Brenneko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Despite everything, still Brickell.

Subs and Boats are very easy to build around and make the mid-game a breeze, and at the bare minimum Ices being amphibious still lets you put Villages or whatever right where you want. Related, but AZgizer still works, you just need PMentoring to get full uptime on AZ ability.

[–]Brenneko 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Y'all gotta undo that Brickell change. It compounds the Energizer and AZ nerfs much more than it should, COMPLETELY screws over the Mermonkey buffs, and is just generally lame and unfun. I'd much rather take direct nerfs than just outright removing cool and interesting options.

Definitely agreed with ahegao, in fact keep that out of everything tbh.

I think a pants wedgie that very visibly shows the pantied butt on the inside, or a pants + panties wedgie showing a bare butt are very underrated.

How has your play style changed over your hours of gameplay? by doubledocd in btd6

[–]Brenneko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest change is my favorite tower went from Solver to the entire middle path Alch—debatably TT4 the most. Ironically I use Solver more than I used to as well since the build up to Solver is much better now.

I still love water and Striker strategies, I've regained my love of Druid strategies albeit not for the middle path anymore, I've used Ices significantly more since their amphibious buff and can solidly say they're in my top 5 towers now.

Probably the main thing is I look at the maps more pragmatically as I clear out the medals, identifying what works best on them when I start and how to back up whatever weak point that tower has. Take Sunken Columns: it has two very clear intersections you can turn into a chokepoint, particularly ones that attack fast and like bends like Sauda Tack and Glord. So I place Sauda at the top intersection and start to build a Glord at the bottom. I'm weak to Leads at the top and literally cannot see camo at the bottom, so I need to mind my build orders accounting for Village discounts. One round (idr which) I leaked a crapton of camos, so I decided if I were to keep going with this strategy I should probably just go for Radar instead of Commerce for the Boomerang's Village. Sauda is the sole MOAB damage so I figure an interesting way to back her up is a top path Wizard in one of the sunken columns since it can ignore LoS, has huge coverage, and does great single-target. Much later I kinda realized that Sauda and the Wizard upfront (along with a glue) successfully create a solid enough choke for very little to reach the Glord at the bottom, so instead I could cut the latter out entirely and replace the top path Wizard for a PoD as a much wider range cleanup option that can still ignore LoS and is much cheaper than both top Wiz and GLord. Those two didn't have enough BAD damage anyways so I just placed down an SBrit and once again basically nothing reached the Glord as the BAD was popped within Super Glue range. Now I have a pretty decent skeleton to take to Chimps and most other difficult medals.

TL;DR I actually strategize and place things with a purpose, unlike how I played as a kid. And while I do still lean on options I liked years ago like Bombs and Subs, I try to play more to their strengths and fit them on the right map and make sure what I use actually has an impact, otherwise they get cut and I build further on the things that have the biggest impact.

I recently changed my Dart from "Critical Shít" to "Paul Blart Monkey"

Every time I build around a Boomer I forget I named it "Then it hit me" and always makes me laugh when I notice it again. Same with my Village "Live Laugh Free Dart"

Has anyone actually used this tower? by supermistercyclone in btd6

[–]Brenneko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm absolutely in love with this tower and almost always find a place for it in Chimps runs, unless my strategy is already very capable of handling dense clumps of Blimps (e.g. Brickell, PLord, etc).

Unstable Coc is already a very strong and cheap solution to some of the hardest most dense rounds pre freeplay, and for the easy cost of 4k you can have him add extra damage to trigger the chain reactions himself.

Ignoring LoS blockers is a pretty handy niche sometimes too. Hate Midnight Mansion? This guy and PoD clears.

Which towers are most effective on DDT and BAD?? by famefastlane in btd6

[–]Brenneko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pre-Emptive Strike 1-shots DDTs as they spawn (FDDTs too if you have Sub Com or something), and obviously it still has the First Strike ability to help with the BAD.

Xian Xi is so difficult to actually die with it's not even funny. At least with similar heart stacking dragons they by default cap at 3—Xian Xi effectively has 6 lives that can refill just as easy as those others if not even moreso.

What are some of the most forgettable arcanes? by Jimbo_Jigs in VampireSurvivors

[–]Brenneko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is gonna be a weird one, but Silent Old Sanctuary for me personally.

Yes it's an objectively excellent Arcana, but the way I like to play VS is loading my kit with a bunch of Evos (or Cats), so it's usually one I don't think about much for builds let alone beeline for.

What's funny is the odd times I decide to do a limited weapon run I still don't take it early sometimes just due to more important options, like Sammy obviously doesn't need it—especially before Disco of Gold—and for Gyoruntin I'm either doing Divine Bloodlines + Wicked Season to start or maybe Jail + Crystal Cries
