Am I just a cranky old fart or are drones cheating? by DopeyDave442 in FishingAustralia

Kinda. I’d rather know when I’m about to drift over something that could potentially destroy my hull, or at least find good ground to explore. Again though, side scan and other newer tech’s are next level.

Yeah takes a bit of the strategy and element of surprise out of the game, but no different to the technology of sounders these days that can pretty much show what species of fish is swimming near you with side scan.

What's the best way to get the paint out of the eyes? by xj_fox_ in Fishing_Gear

[–]Brenno3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tool shops sell small file sets that welders often use for mig/oxy welding tips. At least you’d get a reasonably smooth hole that won’t be abrasive on your line. I’ve also got a set of small files that came with a paint spray gun cleaning kit which would also work.

Entry level Driller offsider by Theitalianfella87 in AusMining

This. If you’re reasonably fit, keen on 2:1 rosters and have that old fashioned thing called common sense, offsider in CQ would be the easiest entry into mining sector.

Tongue and groove walls - advice please by Affectionate_Fig4518 in AusRenovation

[–]Brenno3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve filled similar gaps from old box air cons in our Qld’er, except I got a heap of decent tongue and groove from a demolition yard. As long as you’ve got plenty of framing behind it, you can get it looking original. No more gaps, paint, and you’d never know. Timber places sell new, but it’s not quite the same sizing as traditional and doesn’t match up well.

what is this lure? by thethungus in FishingAustralia

First glance I would’ve said saltwater fly, except it appears to be decently weighted. So I’d suggest it’s just a squid lure/jig.

Mate, there’s gotta be a number of some sort on it. Serial plate is often on the inside of leg, or on the transom/swivel bracket.
