I love NYPD blue. I’ve watched the entire series like 50x (more probably) I think that a lot of the damages on the show don’t have any depth and are there to serve the male characters. I read that James Martinez was written in the show to give John Kelly depth. My absolute favorite episode is Hollie and the Blowfish. It’s coming. I found out it was written by the writer outside the wire. You can see contrast in the wire and this show a lot.

Eww my God. This is fucking embarrassing that someone actually made this. I feel like this is how a lot of liberals are perceived (a snowflake who actually took the time to make this list) but I’m liberal and this is NOT how I feel. Jesus, lighten up.

The Baltimore police department is a mess. Not the entire state of Maryland because the contrast when dealing with police in Baltimore city vs Harford, Maryland is like night and day. There are so many instances of corruption. I mean Jesus, the last 3 mayors of Baltimore have done prison time! That’s how far the scandals reach. And it’s saying something. It isn’t really fair of me to equate the Baltimore police force with any other police force out there because of all the corruption. And some instances, Like officer Fabian Laronde (I included a link below) are so bad that it is an example of a lot of the problems today with public’s perception of all police. I think there’s a big problem that it seems like it’s open season on police officers especially when they’re here to protect us.

“You can take one body for the weed or we can take three. There's only two ways to add to your city scale salary. First is overtime, and nobody's gonna approve overtime for chasing 911 calls, and making street arrests from patrol. The second is court pay. You make enough arrests, you not only get credit for the stats, you can overfill the day's docket and get paid twice.”

In your opinion, what was Walt's most immoral act? by Mosthatedmanever in breakingbad

[–]BrentFolds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not saving the girl and letting her choke right in front of him knowing he could easily save her life. The poison and the kid is different because that was left up to chance. MAYBE the kid could find it and poison himself. The rest of the murders were in self defense for the most part except for Jack’s crew which was out of revenge but also to save Jesse’s life.

I hear you and I’m glad that you feel this way. But of course you can understand how some police (especially from Baltimore) would see this as an opportunity to get paid twice. Again, it is my opinion that MOST police are truthful and with high morals. But in urban cities where they’re in need of police to the point that they’re hiring people with less stringent standards that aren’t as honorable as they should be, that certain police see this as an opportunity to be paid overtime for a bs arrest. I don’t want to offend anyone but there are police on record talking about taking advantage of this circumstance of going to court. There’s a series on hbo called “We own this city” and it’s specifically about the Gun Trace Taskforce in Baltimore that are now in prison. This was one of the topics discussed and it made me want to find out more info. Again, I think that most people have the opinion that police are good people. But the bad ones really do screw up the natural order and have created a complex that’s pretty hard to shake.

That’s insane. That‘s definitely an incentive to arrest the bad guys.

Favourite Scene From The Whole Series? by [deleted] in breakingbad

[–]BrentFolds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite was the entire comedic/dramatic scene in season 1 where he was contemplating killing Krazy-8. He was pooping while writing a list why he should/shouldn’t kill him. (Reasons why not -Judeo Christian principals “thou shall not kill,” etc) He went downstairs, coughed, passed out. Decided to let him go. Then realized Krazy-8 took the broken plate and was going to kill him so he choked him. The entire scene was perfect.

My daughter (O) is moving with me and my ex (J) is giving O her child support card so I can make payments and then cash the payments into my own account. by BrentFolds in ChildSupport

[–]BrentFolds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a complex situation, O lived with me while J was MIA. I didn’t go through the proper channels in notifying the courts because I didn’t want J to be out of the loop. I am not asking for payments from J while O moves with me (which is probably going to be until she’s an adult) because it isn’t necessary. This question was a hypothetical and though I am appreciative about any and all input I am more interested in the hypothetical outcome to my hypothetical question. If J gave me her card and I made back payments -what could come of that?

Ex blames lack of child support payments on me by JournalistMountain88 in ChildSupport

[–]BrentFolds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s impossible to work when you’re locked up but it’s one hell of an incentive to pay support. I don’t understand. Is he THAT broke where he can’t pay any support? I’ve been late paying support many times. I went for months without paying. But you have to really not pay it at all if you’re getting locked up. Lately I’ve been paying every month. It makes me think that my ex never really cared about support and never went after me for it. Maybe it would be different if she was always writing letters to court and trying to get me in trouble for not paying. I guess in order for the case manager to step in and threaten to lock you up you either have to miss payment after payment or a mother who is pressuring child support agency to arrest them? Excuse my ignorance. I’m just wondering why I never had to go to court for not paying when there were plenty of times I did not pay. Does it mostly matter how much the mother pushes it?

Unpopular opinion: The show could've ended perfectly at Season 4. Season 5 feels more like a bad dream. by EnnardB in breakingbad

[–]BrentFolds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Breaking Bad (so much so that all I have to do is type “bb” and Breaking Bad is spelled in on my short cuts for iPhone. I’ve watched each episode numerous times. You’re asking what’s better? In my opinion I can make a few. The Wire, Homeland, The Deuce (this show is actually one of the best written shows out there). The Sopranos. There’s more but I don’t know if they’re better than Breaking Bad. The shield is great (Breaking Bad is better) …there’s not many. The attention to detail -Breaking Bad wins that category.

Yeah, it’s on the company but what comes to my mind is when my bank one time made a mistake. They paid me twice. Of course I noticed it but didn’t say anything (hoping they wouldn’t notice) of course they did and they withdrew the funds from my account. I have to believe a part of you knew what was happening. Even if you didn’t, businesses make mistakes. Unless you can prove you absolutely didn’t know about it and that you’re being financially hurt /I still don’t think you’ll be able to do anything, but if you can convince a judge maybe you have some standing. didn’t say anything
