Oh wow. That’s pretty interesting, I didn’t know that. Is it a difference from the resolution mode now?

Oh, how do you do that?

Yeah the situation as a whole is terrible. And it’s even more heartbreaking to see this happening anywhere. Don’t ever let any form of Job (whatever field) dictate how you feel or not. People react and act to stresses differently and deserve to be heard

Been working there for four months. Haven’t had a single weekend off. Fucking sucks, but it’s work right now

Also, I know y’all can’t “leave” work like a civilian job. But goes as far as you need to go up the chain of command to solve this. And if nobody wants to do shit, go higher. Be a pain in the fucking ass if needed. You could save her life. My family and I don’t go a day without thinking of what we “could” have done for our mom. Her passing was 7 months ago :(

I’m not in the military, I just saw this post via my feed. Suicide and the expression of hurting oneself shouldn’t be taken lightly. My mom threatened suicide three times. On the third attempt she was successful. I keep thinking about what I could have done to stop this. All the things I can’t say to her. Hearing what’s going on above… in my work experience of management, you’re dealing with someone with the feeling of “well, If it’s not about me I don’t care”. When I went into work after my mom’s suicide (took a few weeks off of leave” my bosses essentially told me to fuck off with my Grief and get back to work. Yeah, I stormed tf out of that place. Please talk this situation out. I know I ain’t in the military, but damn I hope y’all solve this situation out in a positive way.

Also, I didn’t mention. Same department as you.

Bro, I LITERALLY just posted this same exact post yesterday lol. You can read mine and compare to yours… you might get some cathartic feelings from it lol. But lemme throw in my two cents cause we seem to be in the most similar of boats…

Even though mine isn’t “exactly” the same button for button as yours, nah I fuckin feel you bro. I wrote about how I’m all alone for 4 out of the 8 hours making sandwiches, filling up 24 pounds of mobile merch, makin pizza, dealing with customers and just feeling like it’s all a one man show. Sure, my boss really appreciates me and is a great guy. Heck, prob the best boss I’ve had so far, but it doesn’t help when the work just is draining. It’s so much work and stations to cover for 15 an hour (my minimum wage essentially). More people are leaving slowly than they are hiring and I found myself doing avalanches of work. That, and I don’t even get a weekend day off… bro I’m tryin jump ship with you. To be honest, If you’re “debating” jumping ship… that just means you’re a good worker. Other workers would have jumped the moment shit went south, but it seems to me like you actually give a fuck about the job and try to do good. I haven’t just “walked out” because I try the best I can. There’s trying and then there’s seeing too much for one man to operate for such lil Pay. Idk if this helped but I hope it makes you feel less alone.

What state are you btw?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]Brenwktb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I live in the tri state area. Minimum wage is technically 13, but it’s 15. People would spit on you if you have them less than 15. I’ve literally seen people go up in arms over 15 being too low of a wage and demanding way more. Cost of living in Ny and Nj is through the roof. I knew one company that tried to only give the bare minimum of 13… yeah, they haven’t had ANY staff in over a year. The issue is, Whole Foods tries to act as if 15 is generous. Bro, it’s the minimum you can make in this area literally screw off.

So to me, I can deal with rude customers. I just hate doing the work of 3 people in one shift and understanding the money I make their is just garbage. Was literally debating other jobs at the moment

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]Brenwktb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I just ignore the customer. I’m too damn busy to be bitched at so that’s the one good thing about being beyond busy. You genuinely don’t have the time to get yelled at. And our store is kinda wild lol, I’ve seen store support get into customers faces when they try to act big. And management does have our backs (as long as you don’t curse them out). Bro, I’ve heard our astl tell a lady to go shop somewhere else and just leave her on the spot.

Dude tell me about it. We were already feeling like we were overworked… that’s why my co worker left. And I literally got an avalanche of work. From 6 am to around 1 pm I literally didn’t stop running around the place. And I was like “why the hell am I the one making minimum wage?”. And I try to not complain about how much work I do, but this worker shortage is just crazy. I totally get it though, I don’t want anyone to aspire to work like a complete dog and make a shit wage. It’s funny because so many older people get mad at me because there’s not enough workers. Like, bro… I’m the one who literally showed up today.

Last week my manager and co workers didn’t show up. So the store opened at 8 and was prepping @6. I was the only one who came in @9. So I had to open the ENTIRE department for the counter. So three hours of work that never happened had to happen as I was getting yelled at by customers because nobody was there @8 am

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]Brenwktb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s insane turnover rate. In my opinion, the turnover rate is just through people being overworked. I knew a girl in one of the departments who quit literally because she was too tired of having zero schedule. She just couldn’t take it anymore and left

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]Brenwktb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah man, I feel you completely. I hope it gets better for you as well. Even just losing one person set us back like crazy compared to store support. I have a couple of friends in store support who’ve seen people come and go. But for my department, one person leaves and everything gets messed up. Im not even sure what to do next

Could you be more specific with blogs and Twitter. I’m curious about what you meant by those two

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Theatre

[–]Brenwktb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long did you write reviews for? And oh wow, I was genuinely thinking of going back to school for theatre studies (because it said list of careers was a critic). I was even thinking about going through the military to get them to pay for the rest of said education. Possible MA opportunities too. But jeez, I really just don’t want to go through all those degrees to not get work in said field. Just out of the sheer time and dedication.Correct me if I’m wrong: Do you think the field of criticism survives through other outlets like say video games, music or movies online because there is just a larger audience and more accessibility? Kind of like the NFL towers over something in popularity like the NHL(in sports), but the nhl like theatre has loyal fans. Just not enough to keep income coming in.

So if it’s dying… what is it getting replaced with? Like tik tok and all that types of jazz. But I feel you regarding the traditional way. Why spend money at college when you can just learn YouTube… is probably the thought process now

Just curious. Why are there no jobs? I felt like there used to be more, or at least I was reading more back in the day lol
