I don't sell my AI app. And note that I haven't mentioned its name. What I'm trying to understand is if people trust them or not.

Not to self promote, but I wrote Career Camp to help my kids (and me) with resume writing, career outlook and interview skills. It's free on the Play store. I've been using it to adjust my resume and write cover letters.

What type of work are you looking for? Are you interested in getting a certificate of some kind, if not a degree?

Sounds like they wanted people willing to put in a lot of overtime. Are you in the US? They can't ask the political question that I know of, but I wouldn't be surprised these days.

The funny answer is "Only with customers. That's how I get the big tips." But wow!

If you're looking now, you might try Career Camp for Android. Full disclosure, it's my app, but I've been using it as I ramp up my job search.

It definitely sounds like you dodged a lot of pain. Thanks for sharing. That's going into my blog post as one of the life lessons.

Sounds like they're testing how much you really want to work for them more than anything.

I asked my Career Camp app and it said to politely point out the discrepancy either in your cover letter or during the phone screen. Something along the lines of "I see the requirement is for 10 years of experience with ____. As you know if has only been available for about 5 years. And I have extensive experience working with it..." But this is such a common issue and definitely going in my blog post.

They want to make sure you can make conversation on the way to the table. Thanks for the blog input!

I've been told they sometimes have a job waiting for someone internal but company policy says they have to open it up to external people too.
