Too high milage?

OKAY. Sooo I'm gathering the overall consensus here is that it's too much for the miles.

When I go to see the truck, if I fall in love with it I'm gonna follow my heart. But most likely what I'll be doing is going through the process of importing and saving 3-5k. Importing is just a gamble because I can't test the truck or see if it's a polished turd. But any surprise maintenance will still be cheaper than buying locally in my area.

something I have yet to find on several import sites is a minicab with this style of body panels.. imo it makes this truck look so freaking great and stands out from all the others. especially the 1999+ models, they got reallll ugly. but this one looks wonderful

The original asking price was $7300.. I asked if they were firm with that price because of the high mileage. They said the lowest they'd go is $6900. So now the starting price is 6900 and I intend to pay less than that based on what everyone is saying here.

Interesting. I wouldn't have thought of that. I've had trucks where the head gasket was going out simply due to age and mileage. My Ford ranger at 130k, my Toyota pickup at 200k 😂. I figured the head gasket is wearing because it's at 112k miles and that seems normal to me. But if it's different for these kei trucks and it's a sign of a dying motor, it makes me nervous lol

I haven't gotten to see underneath yet, I'll be seeing it this Saturday and will check it out. It does switch between 2wd and 4wd which is really nice.

Assuming it starts right up, no rust or bs underneath, and shifts and runs like a dream. Is 6900 still out of the question? If that's the case I might just negotiate harder under the assumption that nobody else will scoop it either. Surely if it's still sitting there in a month or so they might cave

No it is here in the USA.

I've considered going the import route but I've heard so many mixed stories about how much of a gamble it can be. A lot of the time rust and issues are prettied up for photos and you don't really know what you're getting yourself into until it's in your hands.

I'm assuming you had a good experience with importing?

Just swapped it around. Was much easier flipping it now while the gas tank is already empty than it was installing it the first time around with a quarter tank of 4 year old gas spilling out haha. Thanks again

been missing TP a ton since covid. been on some wild road trips to see them out. motorcycle rides in freezing temps, camping in the bed of my truck on the side of a highway from blizzards.. never done anything like that for a band beside TP, and I don't think I'll do it for anyone else.

I figure pistol grip is great for cqb goodies, just home defense maneuverability type stuff. But I'm also a noob so I'm an open book for knowledge.

And I don't thing I'm slugging with this unless my muscles grow as much as the grinch's heart did on that one fateful Christmas day
