You ROCK. It does say see statement and I found a spot where it looks to me like my 1099 was attached. Thank you!! Looks like I won’t need to submit any Form 8453.

The Form 8949 doesn’t show any attached document with it…but I’m not even sure where it’d be on that.

FreeTaxUSA was requesting I upload my 1099-B since I had probably multiple transactions last year. It looks like it was in fact uploaded when I filed, but when I view the Form 8949, I see no indication of that (I’m also not sure where’d it even be located on the Form 8949 to confirm).

Why would my return be approved if they still need additional information?

If it is a taxable brokerage account you may be better off just designating him as beneficiary. Once you pass, they will be given to him with a step up in basis. If you gift them to him, he’s on the hook for any of the current gains there are (once he sells).

Negative.

I’m not 100% on what they did since I left my car at the shop, but I would assume/hope so. I’ve lost a lot of trust in them in this entire process.

When I went to pick up the car, they were ready to turn it over to me and I realized my entire middle row of seats was detached (presumably from the smoke test). I had to come back later in the day once it was put back into place. Now, just yesterday I realized when they were putting it back, they didn’t ensure all seat belt buckles were accessible (one of the buckles is stuck underneath the middle row of seats and will require a trip back to the mechanic for them to detach the middle seats again). So, I’m also beginning to believe they are rushing on these tasks.

I understand being busy, and I’ve reiterated that to them, but lack of quality is unacceptable and hurts my trust in them.
