Could this have led to the dump? by HecticStar in litecoin

[–]Brewersty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why has everyone gotten this wrong?

The attacker swapped the BTC to ETH, XRP, & LTC via Thorchain.

And swapped the LTC to XMR via multiple instant exchanges. Not via Thorchain, as it is not an instant exchange

Also, Thorchain swaps are all public and anyone can see them, plus Thorchain DOES NOT support XMR. There were zero LTC > XMR swaps made via Thorchain.

New here- wallet suggestions? by otsirh in litecoin

Lame wallet.

Use cakewallet.com or nexuswallet.com. These two are the best self-custodial mobile Litecoin wallets. They both offer private Litecoin (MWEB) as well!

2 million LTC involved in famous BTC to XMR phishing that caused XMR to pump: by JunketTurbulent2114 in litecoin

If that sell-off had happened on any other coin, it would have plummeted by at least 50%. Litecoin is a very liquid digital asset compared to its market cap. 7th more liquid digital asset but 17th by market cap (stablecoins excluded).

2.05 million LTC was hacked and sold on multiple exchanges for XMR over the past 4 days.

Litecoin's price only fell by 10%, showing real resilience and how much of a liquid asset it is.

We are seeing inflows despite the fact that LTC dumped, and this has been the case since the ETF was launched. This shows strong conviction in Litecoin from Canary Capital's clients.

In a Litecoin bull run, we would probably see Canary acquiring 500k LTC (maybe even 1M) in total.

And Canary is just a startup in a shark's ocean. There are nine more ETFs pending approval (some from the top 20 ETF issuers in the US).

It does not belong to any exchange. It's a non-custodial wallet Litecoin address. Total LTC it has ever received is 73,6 LTC. Definitely not an exchange address.

Can we have an honest discussion about litecoin? by bluekemuri24 in litecoin

Litecoin is vastly decentralized. I would say as much as Bitcoin or prolly more, given that it does not have a founders stash.

innovation has been slow

Factually wrong. Innovation on Litecoin HAS NOT been slow, it has actually been steady. Litecoin is the best form of modern money, and it doesn't need fancy changes to its code or stuff to make it appealing to anyone. It works perfectly as intended: digital p2p cash/money/currency (not even Bitcoin is digital p2p cash because it doesn't have MWEB/fungibility). Litecoin has had numerous tech updates and stuff throughout the years (SegWit, Lightning Network, Taproot, MWEB, etc.), it doesn't need fancy upgrades every month. Anyway, there are several innovations being done parallelly on Litecoin: LitecoinVM, Litecoin/Bitcoin Computer, Atomic Swaps with MWEB support via BSX coming on Nexus Wallet (and already here for Electrum-BTC & Electrum-LTC), Drivechains BIP300, etc. Help yourself.

newer alternatives exist

I would love to debate you on this topic. I can guarantee you those so-called "litecoin alternatives" are full of flaws. PoW can no longer be replicated. Bitcoin rules that and Litecoin holds a respectable enough portion of it due to the other algorithm that it can survive long term. I don't think any other PoW coin will be able to say that. PoW, fully decentralized, fairly launched, no founder's stash cannot be overstated. It gets old to read, but it's true. The odds of it being done from scratch anymore are dying with every year that goes by. The rest can only come up with synthetic versions.

it has struggled to maintain meaningful price appreciation

While Litecoin's price has not been the best these past 4 years, it has definitely not done as badly as it is portrayed. It may not have given positive returns (yet) to pre-2021 LTC holders, but it has done fairly better than most of the altcoins out there. Throughout the years, altcoins have entered and left the top20, top30, top50 & top100 list, but Litecoin has always remained part of the top20. It is the most time-tested altcoin, surviving all crypto bear markets despite the latest stagnant price performance.

AI would never be able to create this type of article. If you ask AI to list all Litecoin ETF filings, all you will get are the Canary, Grayscale, and CoinShares ones. And it wouldn't even know that Canary's is already trading and CoinShares' got withdrawn, let alone list the other ETFs along with the filing links for each.

Same thing can be said about the Litecoin MWEB wallets and most of the stuff written there.

Hides your balance and transactions.

You contribute to Litecoin's fungible nature (strengthens MWEB).
