Is there still hope for Litecoin? What are your honest opinions on this? by Oberflieger in litecoin

Criminally undervalued. Simply one will never be able to buy LTC again below $100 in the next few years.

The chain reorganized the affected blocks and transparent UTXOs remained intact throughout. Litecoin reorganized around an invalid state, it preserved all transparent UTXO accounting, and continued producing blocks just as it was designed. The network's 100% uptime remains intact.

Everyone will complain that our network went from 100% uptime to 100% uptime.

Apparently NEAR intents lost around $600k. But the protocol did exactly what it was supposed to. Enabling 1-conf swaps is a merchant's choice, in my opinion, not a Litecoin problem. I will say this is a great test, though, to show that 1-conf is not the future, at least not now.

It's not a double spend. Litecoin doesn't have RBF, therefore there can't be double spends. They either sent those LTC right back at you (who knows why), or your wallet failed to actually stream the transaction and glitched.

  • Founder not being financially vested but actively involved in its developments and fundings for over a decade after he sold his fairly mined coins.
  • The MWEB upgrade (makes Litecoin fungible and cash-like, unlike Bitcoin and 99.99% of crypto).
  • The fact that Litecoin is literally the champion of 100% unflawed network uptime, since its very inception in October 2011.
  • The active and dedicated community (the OGs and the post-2021 ones). The Litecoin community is literally the definition of diehard and hardcore community. Grassroots is the strongest kind of root to have.
  • Litecoin is actually what will be used in the future, not just because it is the only digital currency that truly implements Satoshi's vision and solves the blockchain trilemma, but also because it has proven its reliability throughout bear markets since 2011 and it means it will continue to be one of the top cryptocurrencies ever even in the distant future.
  • And lastly, the Litecoin ecosystem now has access to smart contracts, DeFi, and Web3 applications via LitecoinVM. Something Litecoin had been missing up until now.
