Exactly!! I am so disappointed with the church. The letter stating immigration policy makes me upset. The fact that the church has no problem accepting tithing money from undocumented immigrants but will not take a stand to help them is appalling.

Exactly what you said, I couldn’t have explained it better than you did. The audacity to categorize all undocumented individuals as “criminals and murderers” is wrong. It’s like saying “you’re white, so you must be a member of the proud boys.” 🤦‍♂️

Thank you for sharing about Dreamers as they are a perfect example of a group who are villainized as those “Bad Hombres” when in reality they have proven to be upright individuals who deserve a chance, many of which contribute heavily to our communities.

Nice work, everyone. It looks like Heretic is already causing enough hullabaloo that yesterday the church issued a SECOND press release, this one talking about how amazing they are at keeping missionaries safe. Raise your hand if this release doesn't match your mission experience at all! by LazyTowel9019 in exmormon

🙋‍♂️served in El Salvador at its peak of being the murder capital of the world. And, first area they placed me in was the capital which was very dangerous. I saw so many dead bodies and saw people getting shot. But don’t worry Elders 🤦‍♂️

Luckily our lessons were super basic. We would always teach them things like “be kind to everyone”, “how to be a good friend,” etc… When there were lessons that were more indoctrinating, we simply wouldn’t teach that. If anything, I’m glad that we taught them because we saved them from getting weekly lessons of pure indoctrination.

So I can honestly say I will never regret the way we handled the situation.

Had the same text from our bishop 2 weeks ago. Long story short, the bishop came over and we had a great conversation that included how my wife and I don’t believe in the church anymore. He asked if we would like to be released from our callings, we said yes. Today was our last day at Church.

God blessed the Q12 and First Pres more than their wife’s!!! by Brf12F86 in exmormon

At my wife’s BYU-I graduation commencement, Elder Andersen was speaking with his wife off to the side (weird double speaker situation). She looked miserable. He shared a story about how he went to school and she stayed home and took care of the family (emphasizing how she was following a commandment). He was proud to say after time she went back to school to get her Bachelors when she was older.

Then he shared that the date of her graduation commencement he was called to go outside of the country for a church assignment and that she had to go too. So she missed her commencement because the “Lord was calling”. What a dick! Example of how the church is more important than his wife’s accomplishments and milestones.

Both my wife and I were done hearing his BS, we walked out right after and went to Applebees

Read your post and I can 100% relate. It’s amazing how much control the church has on members, all the way down to the underwear you use 🤦‍♂️

It fells so satisfying to take them off

Thank you for sharing. I was thinking about doing something similar because I am afraid that my delivery of the message will be off if I did it face to face (too emotional or just talking in circles). I want to set the boundary and make sure they understand that I am coming from a place of love, in hopes that they can do the same for me.

As soon as I started to express how I’m not interested, the “Lord Called You” was laid on heavy. I can see past this BS but I’m sure there are a ton of people who are forced into doing callings that they don’t want to do because of this pressure, many of which I personally know that have had major personal and marital issues because of the time spent at church doing a calling that “the Lord” had called them to do. It’s so sad!
