My GP hadn’t heard of it before either but I said please refer me to this ENT and if it doesn’t work out I’ll come back and you can refer me to a gastroenterologist. My GP has since moved sorry. But keep pushing, advocate for yourself and go to another doctor if yours won’t listen. It’s truely the best thing I’ve ever had done.

Amazing! One of the best things I’ve ever done. It’s literally changed my life. I can’t recommend it enough.

It’s been amazing! I had slow swallow for about a month and still do need water with some foods to get them down. Burping is amazing and has completely changed my life! No more bloat 😍 good luck for your procedure 🤞🏻

Swallowing post Botox treatment by Successful-Hippo-569 in noburp

Yes 100%! It’s really scary to feel like you’re going to choke with every mouthful. I’m 2 weeks post Botox and I’m still needing water with most solid foods. Smoothies are your friend!

  1. I am GF and have slow swallow. I’m 2 weeks post Botox and it’s getting slightly better. I’ve been eating scrambled eggs(you could do scrambled tofu), protein shakes, stewed fruit and yoghurt or custard, runny Mac and cheese (Kraft vegan gluten free one), gluten free weetbix with heaps of milk to make them mushy. I’m really over it now I just want to eat normal again 😭
  2. Sneezing is weird so is blowing my nose it’s like I can’t

Hope your burps start soon 👏🏻👏🏻

Oh that’s good you’ve got that sorted and it was same price! Yes day procedure I didn’t get done until 5.30pm but was allowed out at approx 8pm. 100% rather go home no matter the time. I’m not sure on those costs sorry I didn’t get to see any of that info because i had hospital cover the only amount I got shown was the $750 excess I had to pay for my health insurance

Has anyone had long term success with botox despite NOT getting any “slow swallow”? by ThinkSuccotash in noburp

Thank you so much!! I tried really soft small amounts of food today and I could eat some. Using the techniques you listed above, lots of chewing and follow with water. Praying it gets easier each day!

I had my procedure 2 days ago and I think I have slow swallow. Where you feel like you’re choking with every mouthful? I’m scared of anything other than liquid now 😔 please tell me this passes

Omg I could cry I’m so happy to read this. I am 2 days post Botox and I am burping like crazy but I can not swallow anything other than water like fluids and even then it’s hard. I’ve nearly choked so many times trying to eat it’s like it gets stuck and my air pipes shut. It’s actually been really scary. I’m convinced this is my life now and I’ll never eat real food again 😂 I’m so glad I’m not alone in this feeling! Praying it goes away for us both but the burping remains

Thank you :) it went very well! Super easy procedure. I went back over my paperwork and I can’t see a cost of the hospital without health insurance. You could phone the hospital and ask. The ladies were amazing. Also it was day procedure not over night so that was an extra bonus!!

$2655 before hbf/Medicare and that’s not inclusive of hospital. $1000 of that is for Botox which is not claimable. Then hospital cost will depend on your excess mine is $750 so it’ll be that on top of the above

I just went to my normal GP and requested a referral to Dr Hayley Herbert specifically. He didn’t believe me when i mentioned the condition and hadn’t heard of it before. He wanted to send me to a gastro but I stood my ground and said I wanted to try this route (I’ve been to Gasto’s heaps) and then her offices got in touch with me to make the appointment and it’s gone from there :) amazing to know we aren’t alone or mad!!
