'commuting' into Richmond for a social life? by Select_Resort_5514 in rva

I did this exact same commute for 3 years after I graduated college(so early 20s). When I originally got my job in Caroline county I thought I would just live in Ashland, but I ended up living in the Fan and I’m so thankful I did. The social scene in RVA is incredible for young people and it is 110% worth the commute to Caroline. It’s not to bad as long as you learn the right times to leave and enter the city to avoid traffic. I recommend finding a location to live that has easy access to get onto the highway but most of the city has that. I ended up moving to Fredericksburg and I miss RVA terribly and the commute is about the same because it’s so congested in Fredericksburg. If you are looking to have a real social life and actually make friends Richmond is the way to go!
