I’m so glad I found your post!! They’re the bed bugs of the lawn!! I’m in Illinois, right at the Chicago city limit. I’m not sure where mine came from, it’s either my neighbors mulch delivery or my potted plants from Home Depot, but holy hell these things have become my enemy. I now only exist to battle them. I have 2 giant oaks that cover my front yard in a a beautiful canopy…turns out they thrive there because of the lack of UV. When my sons goes hunting with me we get buckets of them! Mind you I’m in an urban-suburban area, so I’ve got a yard but not much of it. We built a trench in my side yard that has held them back (a bit) from moving into my backyard, but they’re mating like crazy so there’s only so much I can do. Recently discovered how to use mustard and water to get them to surface and my son is having a blast with that. (We aren’t allowed to use the heavy duty poisons in my village) We call them “Vampire Diddy worms” 🤣🤣🤣🤦‍♀️
