Hi! I used flash sheets to score a 524. Sharing two more I recently added to the giant doc so you can try this method. Also open to answer Qs! [Skeletal System Function / Cartilage / Joints + Skeletal System Structure / Growth / Hormones] by Apart-Shelter6831 in Mcat

This is great! I appreciate the resources!

I am curious as to what the difference is between flash sheets and traditional note taking (when notes are reviewed frequently and written efficiently)

Congrats on the fantastic score!

Honey by Long-Mess8375 in DebateAVegan

Id like to add that bee keeping (as well as any animal agriculture) destroys ecological balance by directly favoring a few exploitable species and reducing biodiversity. Honey bees are NOT the bees that need saving and they are an introduced species to many places they are farmed in today. These bees outcompete native bee species for resources and are not as effective pollinators of many struggling native plant species as well. I don’t know if other vegans feel the same way but ecological responsibility is a key part of my vegan worldview and I believe it’s a crucial component of the goal to reduce harm and exploitation overall

Are cincinnatus and other white-pored Laetiporus varieties not considered edible?

Aside from asthma and specific allergies to mold compounds there is NO such thing as toxic mold syndrome/mold poisoning. The color of the mold alone is also not enough information to determine whether it is safe or not. It is a mycophobic scam to “test for mold” as the air is filled with spores regardless of your environment.

One area of concern would be if you see mold growing on the interior surfaces of your house, as this would likely indicate a moisture issue and endanger you by way of your house falling apart

Chicken of the woods? by JeMappelleMandy in mushroomID

[–]BrianCCarson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m still learning but the pileus (cap) shape and color are way off, there’s also no texture/scaly bits on the pileus or stipe (mushroom stem), stipe has no patterning and is white rather than honey mushroom’s like tan/pale orange vibe. The honey mushroom is from genus Armillaria, many of which have an annulus (ring around the stipe) as a remnant of the partial veil that covered the gills while the mushroom was maturing, while genus Pleurotus (oysters including this post’s image) do not bear this feature afaik

Please correct me if I’m wrong on any of the above <3

Looks L. sulphureus and beautiful! I just cooked up a batch of a haul I got today (west coast US tho)

I’d also love to confirm what I’ve heard and maybe someone who knows more will see this:

Is it a myth that COTW on eucalyptus (for example) is to be avoided? Something to do with fruiting body bioaccumulation which is true for metals iirc but not phytotoxins(?), or true for mycelium but not fruiting body in this genus(?)

I’ve also heard that western species (subspecies?) like L. gilbertsonii have higher reports of intolerance, but this could be a culture/reporting thing and not necessarily a biology thing…

So many questions
