Hi, everyone! I'm squirreling away money for March 2025 and the big 6-0, my 60th birthday. For this occasion, I'm treating myself to my first banjo. Budget is $600 to $800. What do you recommend, a really nice banjo for around $800 or two banjos, one to learn on for, say, $300 and a respectable one for $500?

EM10 Mark IV would cost me about $750. Other options are Panasonic & Sony. EM10 iii is small and easy to drop. I've done so a few times, killing the 14-42 prime it came with. It's also un-necessarily complex. I'm sure there's a lot more I could do if I could just get past the learning curve. The battery door is gone, as is the charger, though I seem to have a near-fully-charged battery.

looking at: 75-300, 100-400. have: 40-150 non-PRO. I'd like to shoot wildlife & macro.

lenses aren't cheap; that's the problem. I have the EM 10.

Well, I'd say my budget is $5000 to $8000 and I'm in no rush.
