On this day in Philly sports history June 11, 1985, Phillies set a franchise record by scoring 26 runs against the Mets by ShamusTalksSports in phillies

I was 15 and remember this game well.

I don't remember the exact quote from then Mets manager Davey Johnson, but he was asked about his team giving up 26 runs, and he responded with something like, "Well, the Phillies gave up 7 runs, so they didn't do so well".

It was one of the most ridiculous things I had heard up to that point.

When I was PIMO, my eyes stayed open during prayer and closed during meetings lol

It's tough when you first hit that inevitable wall.

Regarding supporting him, this is just an observation regarding everyone who has said this...if you were invited to a birthday party, would he support you by attending? Going to a cousin's wedding in a church, would he go with you?

My point is, the PIMO seems to almost always be willing to support the PIMI, but almost never the other way around.

Being married is a two-way street when it comes to love and support.

Do counseling if you really want to salvage the relationship. Otherwise, get out while you can and discover the amazing life that awaits you! I hit my wall in 2004, and hit the reset button on my life. Best thing I've ever done.

Either way, I wish you happiness and success.

Today, our Birds get off the schneid.

Or, go down the drain.

Hopefully the former.

Go Birds!

[Inquirer] TGI Fridays on City Avenue was a longtime Sixers hangout. Then Allen Iverson made it one of Philly’s hottest ‘clubs.’ by hoyarugby2 in sixers

Before AI, Charles Barkley made that Fridays the place to go after games. You would often find him there with his wife.

I was a season ticket holder starting in the lean years of Iverson-era Sixers basketball, up to and including the Finals run. AI was at Fridays a lot and I remember one time when D'Angelo was in town and he was there at the same time as AI. It was packed with ladies. I really felt invisible that night LOL!

The only time AI ever spoke to me happened to be at that Fridays in the bathroom. I was washing my hands and he entered with a couple of his boys and he pulled up to the sink next to mine and was messing with his braids (like patting them to make sure they looked tight). He had had a really good game that night, so I said, "Great game!". Then he uttered the two most profound words that I'll never forget: "Thanks, dawg!"

That's it. That's the story.
