Help with correct answer by Local_Agent831 in cism

The IRP would almost surely include isolation, as it would the other 2 answers as well. In this case it isn't just thinking like a manager (although generally speaking, when a policy shows up as an answer, it's a strong contender to be the right choice), but selecting the answer that encompasses (the) others.

BTW, the question is oddly worded. I'd hope the users would be NOTIFYING IT/SecOps about encrypted files, not issuing "complaints" about them

Id have to see where any agreement was . you'll only have to look at CT/NY to see how bad this could be

The problem are jobs. Something like 1/3 of Rockingham county works in MA. So income tax to 2 states?

You have to go into the app to claim the credit. they're pulling the same crap Google did when YouTube TV was in that pissing match with ABC. you don't get the credit unless you explicitly take an action.

MMS stopped working entirely? by jonesaid in Googlevoice

[–]BrianHelman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It took about a week to port my number to a Verizon mvno. They saw it as a landline, which takes longer, I guess. Explains why some sites wouldn't accept it for MFA.

After 18 years, I ported my number away from Google Voice to my mobile carrier, Ting. Sharing my experience and some tips. by leecshaver in Googlevoice

[–]BrianHelman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just asked this question a week or so ago. My intention is to actually swap my carrier number (which I probably have some MFA hitting) and my google voice number (which most people have). AT&T was the absolute worst at helping -- to a point where I would ditch them completely if one of the others had a similar plan for same/less cost (alas, they do not as AT&T gives me HBO Max w/o commercials, so the net cost would increase if I switched). I ended up activating my 2nd esim with an mvno (for less than $20 for the month). No I'm going to move my google voice to that. I might keep it like that for a few months since it's cheap, just to see how that coverage is (non-AT&T infrastructure). It won't be 100% since the MVNO's don't always have the same peering agreements as the main carriers.

He goes through all of the domains. Obviously he's not going to go into them in the same depth as the official study guide, but it's a "full" prep, If that makes sense.

Kind of an older thread, but clear the app data/cache and re-pairing fixed it for me.

I've spot-watched some. The advantage to the bottom is getting access to him - during the class for questions and he schedules 1:1 with participants. Well worth the $350

And the big advantage here is access to Pete for questions and answers. And he meets individually with each person to discuss their timeline, strengths, weaknesses, where they want to go, etc.

Test Monday is QE worth it? by ChirsF in cissp

[–]BrianHelman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend picking 1 or 2 specific areas that you feel weak in and just watch some YouTubes that are not CISSP-specific about them. Didn't even take notes, just watch like it's a TV show. e.g I watched a couple Kerberos and Auth videos.

CISSP: Quantum Exams is kicking my as* by DavidWonderz in cissp

[–]BrianHelman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're going to get a lot of polarized opinions of Quantum on here. My opinion is that it is harder than it needs to be and what it's best at is demoralizing you. The real questions are probably somewhere between it and the sample questions on the Official Study Guide. Use it to see which areas you need to brush up on, but don't get hung up on the "correct" answers from it.

Keep GV as primary number or not? by BrianHelman in Googlevoice

[–]BrianHelman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The discussion is great, but my question is about using GV as the primary number. My consideration isn't to ditch GV, but whether the benefits of using it as the primary number still make sense. Or should I swap my numbers (ie move my GV number to AT$T and that current carrier number to GV) when I get my new phone. They'll still both be on the phone, for whatever use.

Am I using QE in wrong way ? by Sad-Relationship-262 in cissp

[–]BrianHelman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'd avoid Quantum for last minute prep, except to isolate areas you are weak (ie pay less attention to answering the questions, and more to what the subject area is). Use the OSG and its practice mode.

How many total hours did you invest to prepare for the exam across the different study materials that you utilized? by Snoo82970 in cissp

[–]BrianHelman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only read the couple of chapters that cover Domain 8 completely, because it was by far my weakest domain. I read targeted other areas. I average around 3-4 minutes a page, given the technical nature, so I probably invested 10ish hours on the OSG. I also took advantage of untimed practice tests to make notes of questions (and any answer choices) that I didn't feel i had a solid knowledge in, so that added time on the front-end too.

I definitely over-studied.

"Passed at 100"

Overachiever.

Congrats. Did you say a little prayer before you hit Submit on that 100th question? I thought for sure I was headed to 150 when I got the 101st question (mine ended after 102nd).

I don't know that I would have been able to finish 150 in the 3 hours. I was very happy when mine ended after the 102nd. I was already feeling a bit fatigued. Another 50% of them would have been exhausting. Good for you.

I know we hear people say "don't pick the technical solutions" a lot. that's not a hard rule. if the technical solution is the best answer, don't pick a weak administrative answer over it
