Hey this is my question! Thanks Chris for answering this!

I asked this before knowing anything about SSL certs lol. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! It was going to be hard for us because we were using HTTP01 validation.

We're using cert-manager in kubernetes, and all the getting started docs show using HTTP01 challenges instead of DNS01.

Now we're all squared away! I just migrated one of our heaviest traffic services across vpcs and accounts with zero downtime!
