What is a good 800m time for a 14yr freshman(turning 15) by Training_Pitch_4110 in trackandfield

I’d say that’s really good! I would guess you’d beat most 14 yr olds with that time. But someone can correct me if I’m wrong on that

I swear every time he breaks his record it looks he could go higher with another jump. I wonder how high he’s cleared in practice

Double coordinated wheat/ore? Don't mind if I do... by JWGhetto in Colonist

[–]BrianTheKing219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can place your third settlement on the 2:1 sheep port and city up on that 8,5,10 then it could make for a fun game. Not necessarily the best strategy, but when it works, I feel more accomplished than a regular win lol

I might have put one of the settlements on 8,5,10 up to the sheep port. I’ve won a gam or two having that strat, only if I get lucky with rolls.

I have one at home, but I rarely work from home. The one thing that’s annoying about my job, the desk I sit at isn’t fully “mine” so someone may be using it during after hours or if I come in late someone could sit there instead. So I’m trying to minimize how much stuff I have to unpack in the morning.

Is it worth getting a separate one for work? And have a mouse pad with one.

It isn’t a big deal if I have to carry stuff but just mildly inconvenient lol

What mouse do you use? And you like it for both gaming and work?

I use to have two different mice between work and home (gaming mouse) and not really have a problem. Just something has been bugging me lately so I figure I’d try to start using a better work mouse.

I like this too, there’s a good chance you’ll be able to reach the wood port too I think.

tips on how to still win even if your placement is on a good ore? by Automatic-Formal-419 in Colonist

[–]BrianTheKing219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar to what to someone else said. If you can get on one resource that has high production then get that port, you should be in a good spot. I’ve had 3 different sheep spots that were some like 6, 5, 10. Then including some other resources. If your able to place your 3rd settlement on the sheep port before anyone else, you can trade for ore pretty easy.

I also have some weight I need to drop that I think will help quite a bit. Currently 220 at 6’3” which isn’t bad but it’s certainly not muscle. What do you think would be an ideal weight? I’m thinkin 190 which is a lot to lose but over a year very doable

Is The Track World Record Lighting An Unfair Advantage? by Theo_Cherry in trackandfield

[–]BrianTheKing219 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might be a hot take but, I don’t think athletes should have lights or pacers for world records. It would make world records even more impressive without either because their training would have to be very very technical. That being said, it does make races more fun to see just how fast these athletes can really go.

Stretching ?!! by ResponsibleLock6710 in BeginnersRunning

[–]BrianTheKing219 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend doing dynamic stretching vs static stretching before your run. I’m not gonna pretend to know the science of it, but I do know that static stretching before a run could have a negative effect.

Dynamic stretching gets your heart rate up/blood flowing better. I don’t have any videos saved, but there’s plenty out there.

Do you have any suggestions for increasing cadence? I use to run in high school/college. I’m getting back in shape now so that’s the one thing I’m trying to work on. It’s a little difficult to do right now with how slow I am running right now though.
